"So?" KO said to Carol as she hung her drenched coat on the warm radiator, "where did you go?" Carol sighed sadly. "KO... why don't you sit down for a sec?" "Ok!" Said KO happily as he skipped over to the couch as Carol followed slowly behind him. "Where did you go then?" He asked her. Carol took a deep breath. "Well," she started, "I went to Mr Gar because he said that the reports on Rad and Enid had come back and..." "What did they say?!" Asked KO eagerly. Carol sighed sadly. "Well... they said that everyone has looked everywhere for Rad and Enid but they couldn't find them anywhere so we might just have to accept the fact that... they're.. gone." KO stared at his mum, his eyes filled with angry and sad tears but he tried to hide them. This can't be true. Rad and Enid would never give up he knew that. They were his best friends. "KO, honey I'm so sorry. I wish it wasn't true either but..." "You're right," said KO roughly, "it isn't true I know it. Rad and Enid are my friends and I know that they would never give up." He plastered a fake smile on his face. "They're just lost, that's all. They're trying to come home but they're just lost. So we don't have to worry." He said happily. His mum stared at him, her own eyes filled with tears. "Ok KO," she said sadly, "if that's what you want to believe." She got up and went to the kitchen. KO could hear her dialling a number. "How did it go?" Asked a familiar voice on the phone. "He doesn't believe it," Carol said sadly, "he said that they're just lost but they're coming home." KO got up and went to his bedroom. He shut the door and sat on his bed and cried. How could this be possible? He thought. Are Rad and Enid really... gone? He shut his light and layed down in his bed. He didn't want to think about it. Suddenly, something popped into his head. Something hurtful that would at least get rid of the pain he was in now.
