Looking at the four people on the floor who I knew well, bloodied and beaten was the most heart wrenching sight I've seen to date. The four had been a very important part of my life when I lived in New York two years ago. I met Lily and Karla in a bar and we clicked instantly and it just so happened that Dominic and Harry were their best friends.

After a couple months of knowing each other, the Cleansers started to catch up to me. I knew that soon I would have to leave them which I didn't want to be I didn't want any danger brought to them. When it approached the one year mark of being friends with them all, a group of Cleansers found Harry and Lily, they were out on a date and were jumped and were used as bait to draw me out. I told Dominic and Karla not to call the police and to just follow me as I followed their scent to a abandoned house in a sketchy neighbourhood.

That night ended with me coated in Cleanser blood and the four discovering what I was. I hadn't drunk any blood but I guess my super speed and strength gave it away.

After that I went completely off the radar and never spoke to them again, for their safety and 2017 I moved to a Ohio then here we are in Kleinwood.

Guess my attempts to keep them away from my life were short lived, cause here we are now, a pack house with over thirty werewolves, one vampire, six Cleansers, seven alphas and five humans. Fucking beautiful.

"Hand over the humans Cleansers. Now." Dinah growled at them and Austin held onto Lily's hair tighter with a cursed weapon pointed at her skull.
"Wow, all seven alphas are here. Sadly, we are here for Lauren. There's a huge bounty on your bloodsucking head, over four million. No way am I passing up the opportunity." Austin taunted and I clenched my knuckles tightly from the top of the stairs. I saw all their glares, pleads for help.
"Do what you have to do Lauren." Dinah whispered in her ear. Lauren was about to let the rage go but first she had to do something.
"Dinah, cover Camila's eyes. I don't want her seeing me like that." I ordered loosely and I saw Camila's beautiful doe eyes before I let loose.

My fangs coming out and eyes changing. Everything went black as I leaped over the railing. The last thing I remember seeing was the look of pure terror on Austin's face.

"Why did you spare him?" Ruby asked whilst running her finger along Matthews jawline. He squirmed under her touch and I wiped my face with a rag as I forgot the faces of the people I just slaughtered.
"He is a direct line between me and Elizabeth. Plus, I owe him." I say and helped him stand. He nodded his head and went into his backpack and pulled out a laptop.
"I've been gathering a lot on Elizabeth. She's been hiring packs around North America to join her in killing Lauren and taking over as the Ghoul Queen. Pretty much she thinks Laurens in charge around America." Matthew expats he brought up a list of pack names and I nodded in appreciation and Dinah punched a wall.
"I'll show her who's Alpha." Dinah spat out before walking away to the gym. I felt the presence of others behind me. I turned around to be met by the faces of my past friends.

"H-Hey Lauren. It's good to see you again." Karla nervously spoke out and I sighed before a sharp pain was delivered to my jaw. I looked toward the source to see Dominic clutching his hand in agony.
"What the fuck are you made off?! Titanium?!" He shouted as his hand started to swell. I chuckled at him before going into the kitchen and coming back with a pack of ice.
"Sorry. For you know, taking off on you all." I said sheepishly and Lily smiled before pulling me in for a short hug.
"It's fine Laur. Just glad you're okay, well alive at least." She says in my neck as she grips me. I keep my arms to my sides as Lily embraces me tightly. I look up to see Harry with tears eyes.
"You know umm...we never got to uh, thank you for saving our asses back in N-New York, so uh...thanks I guess." Harry stuttered out and I raised my arms and motioned for him to come over and when he was close enough I brought him in for a hug and soon enough Karla, Dominic, Lily, Harry and I were all engaged in a group hug.

"Are you all still living in New York?" I ask as we broke from the hug.
"Yeah, I just got my masters in teaching. I was gonna get a job as a Professor at NYU but of course we were snatched up." Karla informed and I smiled shyly.

Karla taught me a lot about stuff about the human mind. She's the reason I have such a good gift at reading people. Dominic last time I checked was a Firefighter and a damn good one, he saved nearly as many lives as I've ruined. Harry was a architect and he loved his job. He designed the house we lived in in New York, I've never seen such passion in something as simple as drawing a sketch for a new building. Lily never managed to stay grounded but she loved Photography and Books. It was her life, she would take me to the most obscure places in New York just to tell me how much she loved it.

Each of these humans made me feel just that little more human and I am eternally grateful for that.

"You know, your welcome to stay in Kleinwood. Dinah pretty much runs things round here." I point toward the Polynesian behind me and she smiles and steps forward.
"Tell you all what. I'll give you jobs, I'll even pay you. Karla, I need you to teach as you are a certified teacher. Dominic, help me condition people you know buffer them up. Harry, I need you to design a new safe house for me. Enough to fit at least one hundred people. Lily, help Karla with her teachings." Dinah informed them all and I watched the surges of happiness rise in their expressions.

I walked out the room and left them to talk. I wandered around the property until I found myself at the edge of the property which looked out onto the river that my cabin sat on. In fact I could see it in the distance.

"It's beautiful." A voice said from behind me. I look back to see a unfamiliar wolf standing there.
"My apologies if I startled you." I nod in understanding and smile politely.
"It's okay Lexa, you didn't give to big of a scare." I say and she smiles and stands beside me.
"You know I love moments like this. Just stopping, taking a moment to take in the beauty of the world around us." Lexa comments as she looks off into the distance.

I've had many years to do what Lexa described but I guess I just haven't.

"I'm 221 years old and I've never taken the time to observe beauty. My thoughts override it all. Well, I thought I was observing beauty back in 1888 but no, I was looking into the eyes of a beast and that's right coming from me." My mind flashed through the memories of Elizabeth. I truly did love her, but I was blind to her true colours and that fact makes me livid.

"What was you relationship like with Elizabeth if you don't mind me asking?" Lexa asked timidly and I sighed heavily before answering her.
"Everything you hoped it to be. She was the most beautiful thing I saw at the time, caring and kind. The sex was amazing sure but it was more than that. It was...like I was looking at most precious thing ever but after a while like a rose, the petals started to wither." I explained and felt a surge of sadness erupt inside but I held back the tears.
"I began to see the real woman. The cold hearted, malicious bitch who ruined everyone who went against her. I still loved her even after seeing her laugh when a man was beaten to death in a public place. When I killed her, it was like I was free. I could finally come up for air. Being with her was like drowning, I could never swim to surface until she wasn't there to hold my ankles anymore." I felt a supportive hand on my shoulder and looked to see sympathetic eyes on my own.

"That doesn't matter anymore though. I found the most ethereal being. Elizabeth doesn't hold a torch to the way this woman makes me feel. I can't explain it but if I was in my darkest place, just her mere glint of joy in her eyes could make me the happiest woman alive. I'm falling for her hard and I hope to god that she's there to catch me."
