Brennen reaches his house and walks in. "Mom I'm home!" Brennen yelled. "In the living room!" Lisa replied. Brennen nodded and walked into the living room and sat by his mom. "I have something to tell you bren" she said and looked at him. "I do too" he replied.

"Well, mom I went to this boys house. His name is Colby, and he's a great guy. But it was different this time...I felt things around him. I was happy around him, if that's how you put it. I was smiling and laughing; I had fun...mom I don't know what to do" Brennen rambled and looked at his mother.

"Brennen that's great! But..." Lisa looked back at him. "But what?" Brennen asked cautiously. "We're m-moving..." she said, no emotion in her tone of voice. "Mom n-no...what if Colby is the right one for me?" Brennen sighed.

"Brennen, just go get some rest. You'll like the idea of moving when you see the house tomorrow" Lisa said and Brennen nodded, going upstairs into his room and shutting the door.

Brennen couldn't comprehend much from their talk, but he knew that he couldn't leave Colby. He knew leaving his mom would cause him to cry once he was around Colby. He didn't always feel all of the joyous emotions as one would think.

Brennen didn't want to do this, but he had to do it. Brennen started packing a bag of clothes that he would need, along with other things. It took him an hour and he hid the bag under his bed. He started writing the note he would leave in his room:

'Dear mother,

I can't move from the city. The only person I've ever befriended is here. I know when you get this you will be confused. Sooner or later I'll tell you. I can't leave Colby. I'm pretty sure he is my soulmate and I can't let him go. Mom, I'm sorry to have to tell you this. I'm running away. Don't bother looking for me. I may not feel anything, but I know I'm doing what is needed to be done in the name of love. So go find your soulmate, and be happy without having to worry about your emotionless son.

Sincerely,

Brennen Taylor '

Brennen put the letter on his desk after folding the lined piece of paper up. He had his bags back and set them under his bed for the morning. He was overwhelmed and exhausted by this time. He then soon fell asleep.
