Hi! Just as a warning, it might get a bit graphic later. Nothing too bad, just me describing a c-section.
~
The next morning, I could barely open my eyes. I wished to spend more time in bed, but the kicks of my baby against my bladder could no longer be ignored. I sighed and struggled a bit getting out of bed, but once I did, hurriedly made my way to the bathroom.
After, I took a quick baby wipe shower, being mindful of the wrap around my ribs. I felt a bit dirty since I hadn't showered in two days and could still feel the horribleness of waking up with blood in between my thighs. Of course, I knew I was clean and no longer bleeding, but I wished to further wipe away the thoughts of my baby in danger or not being healthy or possibly not surviving.
I could never forgive myself if something happened to my baby.
Upon exiting, I spotted William sitting by the window, talking hurriedly and harshly into his phone.
"Will?" I pondered, crossing over to him. "What's wrong?"
He ended his conversation and turned toward me, stating, "The press has somehow got their hands on pictures of me carrying you into the Emergency Room. They caught sight of your bloody nightgown and jumped to conclusions. It's all over the news, so I called PR to handle it." His gaze drifted down to where I cradled my belly. "I didn't want you to see anything about it and get distressed."
I nodded and patted my tummy, "Hear that, sweet pea? Daddy's gonna take care of us. He's not gonna let anything happen to you, right Will?"
Glancing up at William, I saw his jaw clench a bit before replying, laying a hand over where mine was placed. "Of course, nothing is going to happen to you while I'm watching over you, sweet baby."
Almost as if our child knew what was being said, the baby kicked against our hands in agreement.
Brittany lounged against the couch in boredom. She sighed for the umpteenth time and looked at her phone, finding that she had no calls or texts from William. The only recent one she had was when he texted stating he was going back home for an undetermined amount of time.
That text by itself was highly worrying, especially since he hadn't said anything after despite her numerous texts and voicemails.
Brittany groaned and got up from the couch, looking at her pregnant belly in distaste when it proved a more difficult task than she thought. She poked her belly and said, "I'll be extremely glad when you're out and I can hand you over to your nannies. I'm much too young to be tied down at home to some kid. I want to go out and get screwed by a bunch of guys. You're not going to ruin that dream for me."
When she got no reaction, Brittany just shrugged and headed to the kitchen.
Ever since her latest doctors visit, when her ob-gyn stated the baby had a 'nuchal cord' - whatever the hell that meant - it hadn't moved much. She guessed that it just meant the baby could be delivered sooner since the doc said she didn't need to wait the whole nine months. The doctor moved her delivery date to some time next week.
