This particular story happened when I was around the age of ten. My family and I were in Colorado because my stepdad, Micah, was getting laser eye surgery. A couple days after the surgery the doctor said he was good to go. On our way back to South Dakota we stopped at a Sonic to get some lunch. We all ordered our food and were sitting there in the parking lot. I had gotten a slushy with my lunch. I was so happy. As I was drinking my delicious slushy, I felt my straw hit against something solid inside my cup. Being the young ten year old that I was, I thought there was a chunk of ice in my cup. So I attempted to push the supposed ice out of the way. And anyone who's ordered a drink from a Sonic knows that their cups are made of styrofoam. As I continued to press harder and harder on the ice chunk, I stabbed my straw straight through the bottom of my cup! I started to panic and Micah yells, "Throw it out!" Because he didn't want a messy car. So I opened the door and chucked the cup as far away as I could. After it had hit the pavement I realized my dad had meant throw it in the garbage, which was right next to our car. So I go and scoop it up and put it in the trash. I climbed back in the car and we continued our drive. My mom had just recovered from her fit of laughter when I said, "Great. Now it looks like I wet my pants." After hearing that my mom spiraled into more laughter. And my little, four year old brother says to me, "I'll share mine with you, Conner. Just don't break my cup."
