*Knock* *Knock*
" Yoohoo, anyone there? The bell fell, so we're heading back inside. " Half yelling Jake waves, stood halfway between the exit and them.
Lightly tugging her arm Becca pulls Anna to her feet. " C'mon boss, let's head to our class."
" Alright then, I'll see you at the last period then." Waves Jake as Anna and Becca head towards the exit to leave for Physics, a conjoined lecture they share.
" Try not to get trapped in a sea of plastic again, Wilder." Warns Rebecca and catching the double entendre hidden within, Jake nonchalantly scurries away to his class.

" Alright kids, scalpels up. As the bells rang, I won't hold you here any longer, so take a last good look at the dissected frogs lain in front of you. Next class we'll be doing a gross review of the human anatomy where we shall see all the similarities our own anatomy shares with that of the frogs. I might be holding a pop quiz on this by next week or so." A cacophony of groans explode on the mention of a 'Pop Quiz'.
" Mam" Squeaks a back bencher, " I'm still not okay with us killing innocent frogs for this. Much less the killing of another batch of them only for the sake of giving a 'Pop Quiz' as you say it."
" Yes mam! What she said." Chimes in another as the crowd picks up the agreeing chant.
" Miss Loraine, for one; I wouldn't be giving you a test on cutting another batch of frogs, but, even if I were, these dissections are being performed on a synthetic frog that was designed for the specific purpose of this use, so do not fret. No animals were harmed in the making of this lecture. Now, that I have answered your questions, scram. Go home."
As the students scramble about getting their things together our teacher speaks out again," The new student, Mr. Wilder. Stay back."
The populous classroom slowly empties as the entire wave of student body trickle out of their respective classrooms and merge in the large hallway mimicking the way in which rivers merge into an ocean.
The volume of conversational yelling rises in the hallway as 'end of the day discussions' happen, " I'm hungry, let's hit XY before heading home" and " Dude, English dumped a massive homework on us".
Gathering my stuff I follow the crowd of squeezing students out of the classroom as I sign-tell Jake that I would be waiting for him near my locker, our roles reversed. Sighing visibly he nods an okay before pacing his steps to the teacher. Glancing back one last time I close the door behind me as I face the stream of students flowing downstream. Putting one leg before the other, I step. Promptly disappearing into the engulfing crowd of pushing students.
A push here, a shove there. To the side I am pulled, to the center I am pushed. Jumping about in the crowd like a drowning soul I somehow locate my locker but to get to it is hard. Relying on my wits I try to formulate a plan of escape when a hand juts into the mass of crowd and grabbing hold, tugs on fiercely.
Yelping in surprise I come face to face with a pair of emerald eyes.
"Becca.
Becca?
Rebecca!" Surprise painting Becca's face, a reflection of mine. Surprise morphs into concern as Rebecca leans on my locker. " I think you need a little rest, Anna. You seem out of it." She takes my grunt as an apology before continuing.
