At first, Jinyoung thought it was a joke.

Good old Jaebum, trying to fool Jinyoung into thinking something which clearly wasn't the reality. But as the days went by, Jinyoung grew up and he pieced the puzzles back together. Except the biggest piece was missing.

Jaebum himself.

And hence, Jinyoung couldn't make sense of the whole picture.

Jinyoung had returned home after having sex with his Jaebum hyung which looked like the best moments of his life. Not only because he always wondered what I'd feel like to be close to Jaebum but he believed that he had harbored feeling for him all along. And after getting intimate with him, Jinyoung was over the moon when he felt that Jaebum reciprocated his love as well.

Falling in love with your best friend might be the greatest blessing in Jinyoung's books.

However, the day of Jaebum's departure followed up and Jinyoung was restless at the lack of communication between them. It has never been like this. They'd always text each other atleast ten times each day and when Jinyoung doesn't get anything from Jaebum's side, he convinced himself that his hyung just might be super busy.

Taking the initiative to text first, Jinyoung sent a simple greeting which went unanswered.

Jinyoung pondered if he did or said something by mistake that night which might have offended Jaebum or not. But he failed to recall any such moment.

He waited by his phone and kept waiting.

Jinyoung took a deep breath at the end of the week and went to Jaebum's house as per schedule to see him off. He had to leave for his college as well.

Some energy signaled Jinyoung and he sensed that something was wrong the very moment he stepped into the lane of Jaebum's house. He rung the doorbell and Jaebum's mother opened up. Her face alarmed Jinyoung like never before. She was a sweet lady and Jaebum got his features from his mother down to the pores. But her red rimmed tear drenched eyes and mouth gasping for air causes Jinyoung's heartbeats to speed up as well.

He asked her the obvious and she answered by asking him another question.

"Is Jaebum with you? Please tell me he went to your house."

But Jinyoung was lost in her play of words. Was that some elaborate joke? Jaebum wasn't with him or in his house and upon inquiring he discovers that Jaebum has been missing for two whole days. Just like him, his mother had thought about the most obvious thing.

Jaebum might be at Jinyoung's place. They were practically inseparable and they treated each other's home like their own.

"It's my fault," Mrs. Im sobbed but Jinyoung wasn't in a state to pay attention to anything anymore.

Panic set in and Jinyoung rushed to Jaebum's barren room. His eyes fell on the bed on which they made love and it was neatly done as if no one has slept in for days. Rummaging through Jaebum's closet and study table, trying to find any clue he might have left, Jinyoung came across nothing.

He broke down.

It wasn't a joke.

He knew Jaebum better than himself and Jaebum was not a person who would disappear like that.

Days passed, cops turned up and it became clear that Jaebum wasn't kidnapped or anything. He had set off on his own to somewhere. Nobody knows about it, not even his best friend.  Jinyoung spent every waking hour for the rest of the time after Jaebum's disappearance to find a single trace of him. There were questions unanswered.

Why would Jaebum leave his house like that?

Where would he go?

Why won't he say goodbye?

Now he is sitting on a dirty floor, right by the door, leaning into his luggage, searching for answers in the lovely face of his Jaebum hyung. He is still the same except Jinyoung can't find the youthful flame in Jaebum's eyes.

It's terrifying actually.

They are complete strangers to each other.

"What are you doing here Jinyoung? You shouldn't be here," Jaebum moves about the room, so that he doesn't have to stand awkwardly at one place and maintain an eye contact with Jinyoung.

"You really have to go ahead and ask me an absurd question rather than saying what actually matters? Jaebum hyung it's me, don't you remember me? Don't you remember us? I've been looking for you all these years and here is where I find you, like this. You have no idea what's going inside my head right now," Jinyoung is in the brink of tears.

It's overwhelming to ask question to a person who has left Jinyoung without giving two shits and for what?

Jinyoung has to know.
