Sometimes our lives are just uneven parts
Bruised bodies, bent lives, and broken hearts
No matter how matter how strong we build our tower
Keeping it standing is not in our power
We work for everything that we can
Find our way through these streets and land
But this life is too heavy for one lonely man
Life slipping away like grains of sand
We sit here in suffering and all alone
Looking at other's happy lives on our phone
And we look at ourselves, with no world and no friend
And we wonder if it will ever work out in the end.
But out of the darkness will emerge a tiny light
A glimmer of hope to guide us in the night
Someone who talks, listens, and wipes away the fear
Someone to remind me we're not the only ones here
But light can fade, light can die
Stars burn out from the sky
But even when the light is cold and gone
Eventually, another one lights the dawn
We sit together, no longer alone
Talking for hours and hours on our phone
And we look at ourselves, finally with a friend
And we wonder why we thought it wouldn't work out in the end.
Don't lose hope, my friend.
It always works out in the end.
