I Can Be Funny

Can I get your attention? I can be funny, I swear!

Say something witty or stupid and not even care

Food is funny, I can joke about my appetite

Or I can deliver sarcasm with a powerful bite

I can dance, flail, and wear a goofy face

I can run into walls and fall all over the place

I can deadpan or freak out and scream

I can break the fourth wall of this crazy dream

But no matter how hard I try

You don't even seem to care

Muttering to myself, I sigh

"I can be funny, I swear."

I make fun of myself and of the things I do

Just to get a little snicker from you

I make fun of others and hope you laugh along

But you stay silent and I feel so wrong

All I want is a laugh or a smile

To make all this effort worthwhile

I just want someone, anyone to notice me

If humor doesn't work, what will make them see?

I'll prove that I can be funny, I swear

But to be honest, who the f*ck cares?
