I could remember it as though it had all happened a moment ago. Bogey staring into my eyes, the feeling of a real connection, and a moment of feeling noticed and loved. I have never been in a real relationship due to me not wanting to be in one, and I have no interest in one at the moment. But the moments that I can save with horses is precious. So breathtaking I can't even describe the moment nor the feeling. And I don't even need to, because when you feel the connection, you will know. Like when I met Bogey for the first time, it didn't take very long before I knew that we would have a long journey together. And that we did, so let me continue our story together.

As I let go of  the lead rope, Bogey carefully turned to me and once again looked deep into my eyes. I didn't want to turn away so quick, so I too looked back into his beautiful brown eyes. He looked so deep into mine that I could understand what he was trying to say to me. Please stay out here with me? So with that I closed the gate to the pasture and stood about five feet away from him.
"See, I knew you weren't a scary horse, your a good boy!" I talked in a baby voice.
As I said it, Bogey lifted his lip and shook his head up and down. I laughed so hard I almost fell onto the grass.
"So, what do you want to do now boy, huh?" I asked him.
Bogey stood still for a second and then started walking toward his water tub. So I followed him, this could be interesting, I thought to myself. When Bogey and I reached the water tub, he started to drink. He looked so cute when he was being an innocent sweet boy.
"Thats a good boy, your my good boy." I said to Bogey.
He lifted his head out of the water bucket and placed his head on my shoulder. I could feel his warm breathing coming out of his nose. Then came the cold water that still lingered in his mouth and spilled all over me.
"Hey! Thats so cold!" I yelled and laughed.
He must have gotten the hint that I was sweaty and it wasn't long after that he slurped up a whole mouth full of water, brought it right over my head, then carefully released it right out of his mouth. SPLASH! Water dripped from my head all the way down to my torso.
"Neighhhh!" Bogey said, then he lifted his lip again and nodded his head as if he was laughing.
"Excuse you Bogey!" I laughed.
Then I grabbed a handful of water and splashed it all over him. He shook his head and then we continued to have a water fight. That night I lead Bogey back to his stall without a problem. I pet his face a little until he closed his eyes and softened his face. I talked to him all about gramps and how he was both of our guardian angels now. I told Bogey that he is only one neigh away. Then I sang the song gramps sang to me, only this time, I sang it with Bogeys name. Then I made myself comfortable on a hay bale, and sang myself to sleep next to Bogey.
