Jade Point-of-View
“What happened? I was getting worried.” Mom asked in a worried tone.
“I have gotten lost after going out of the principal’s office and I accidentally knocked one of your students books down. I help him pick up the book and ask for directions to the lounge. He said ‘Hi’ to you. ” I said it in a calm manner.
“Which student?” she ask curiously
“I think his name was James Emerald” talking while blushing.
“Oh... That guy! He is the top in his class every year and his friends are always took the top 3 spots behind him. He will be your tutor for the subjects you are taking.” Mom said with a smile.
“So he is a nerd?” I questioned her
“Oh no I should say that he is popular with all the students and teachers in this school. People says that he is good at sports yet he is not in any sports groups. Teachers says that he scored all A in his subjects and yet people don’t classified him as a nerd. Why?” Mom said
“Just asking” while hiding my blush
“Why are you blushing?” I can’t believe Mom saw me blushing.
“I-I am not blushing! Ok maybe I am.” I said it shyly.
“Ok so who is it?” Mom asked me
“Geez Mom I am not going to tell now. But when are you going to tell James that he is tutoring me?” I said it excitedly.
“After school.” Mom reply. The bell rang and mom asked me to go to class. After I leave the lounge, there are many pairs of eyes looking at me. I feel like a million fans trying to meet me by crushing me to death. I quickly walk to my English Literature class.
James Point-of-View
After my talk with Finn, I told Aunt Jane to gather everyone to the house around 6:30 pm. Thank God my parents’ families live near us. After my World History class which is my last class, I quickly make my way to Candice’s car and wait for her. While I was waiting, there was someone walking towards me.
“Hi James” Mrs Dean said to me.
“Hi Mrs Dean. So what are you doing here?” I asked her
“I was looking for you and I want to thank you for helping my daughter. Since I am finding a tutor for her, I thought of you being her tutor until her grades are up. So will you help her?” She told me
I was really thinking this through being stuck with accepting an offer from my step uncle. “Can I tell you tomorrow my decision because I have some stuff to do on some days?” I informed her.
“Ok. Well I need to help my daughter with her maths. Bye and thanks again!” She walked away toward the school.
I was still waiting for Candice and I was thinking on how I need to schedule my time. While thinking, Candice and Stanley taped on my shoulders. “AH!! Don’t scare me to death!!”
“Sorry but just to ask what are you thinking of?” Stanley asked me
“Oh just now Mrs Dean ask me something about tutoring her daughter.” I told him. He nodded at me and we got into Candice’s car and drove off to my house. On the way there I asked where Finn was. Stanley says that he was at practice and he will be there before my news podcast.
We reached my house after 25 minutes and when we went in, we saw everyone (my cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents) and I am ready to break the news to them. After we change from our school clothes into our party clothes, we mingle with my family members. The doorbell rang and I quickly open the door and I saw Finn soaking wet with his sweats.
“Hey Finn, umm... I bring you to my room by another way. Quickly Uncle John is here so I want you not to start a riot with him.” I told him. Uncle John is really I dislike. On my 13th birthday, he saw Finn and told me that I am not supposed to be friend with a hooligan like him. I totally disagree and almost shouted at him for calling Finn a hooligan. When Finn heard what Uncle John said about him, he almost went berserk. Luckily he left after I told him.
After his change into his clothes, I quickly bring Finn, Candice and Stanley into the kitchen. “So why are we in the kitchen while your family members are in the living room?” Candice asked me
“Do know why they are here?” I asked them.
They nodded silently and curiously.
“I called them to tell about DJ Blaze.” I said it quietly
“What?!?!? Why?” they all shouted quietly.
“I don’t want any secrets towards my family after my parents’ death. They are my only family.” I almost cried.
“Ok. Please don’t cry...Come on please.” Finn said to me.
“I wish this is easier to do.” I said to them
We all laughed...
