Later that night. We went home. I got a test from our bathroom. I always have tests on and because you never know what can happen. I always wanted to be prepared.
I took the test. I brought it out for Ricky and I to wait and see. I looked at him "either way... we need to move.... were outgrowing this little place" Ricky smiled " yes it's time for us to move on." The test came back. I looked at Ricky "look.." He smiled " it's positive! were having a baby!"
a few days later...
We scheduled a doctor's appointment to confirm the pregnancy. We got to the doctors and were seen by a nurse. She Instructed me " ok the doctor wants to do a trans vagional ultrasound since your about 6-10 weeks pregnant... so please remove your clothes from your waist down the put on this gown.." I undressed and put on the gown. I looked at Ricky as I sat on the table " You excited.." He smiled " yeah.. I guess I didn't get to experience this with John.."
We heard a knock at the door " hi guys.... you ready?" I nodded " yeah Dr. Emmons." She talked to us for a second " so you think your pregnant..." I looked at her " yes we took a few tests at home... they were all positive." She looked at me " and are you having any symptoms..?" I looked at Ricky then at the doctor " yes... I've been nauseous, my boobs hurt, and I'm exhausted all of a sudden..." She looked at me " all common with pregnancy.... and when was your last mensural cycle?" I looked at her " I think like 9 weeks ago.." She looked at me " and this is your second pregnancy?" I smiled " it is... I was a teen mom." She nodded " ok and your first... did you deliver vaginally?" I nodded " yes..." She looked at us " this will all be helpful when it comes to this pregnancy... I just want to gather all the information I can."
She looked at me " ok you can go ahead and lie back and put your feet here..." I lied down this was it... She looked at me " ok scotch down..." I moved down more. She got ready " ok good... as the nurse informed you were going to do a trans vagional ultrasound today since your earlier in your pregnancy..." I looked at her " ok.." She looked at me " so I will put a condom with lubrication in your vagina... you may feel a little pressure just like with a Pap smear..." I nodded " ok.." The doctor instructed me " ok Amy go ahead and spread your legs a little more for me... that's great.." She started the ultrasound " ok now I'm going to insert the ultrasound into your vagina... a little pressure there you doing ok.." I nodded " fine..." She looked at the monitor " ok there's baby...." She looked intently at the monitor " I'm picking up on two heart beats.." Ricky looked at her " her's and the babies..." The doctor shook her head " no twins congratulations... it looks like they are reading at 10 weeks and 3 days..." I smiled " twins!" She nodded " yes twins!"
She removed the ultrasound " ok so everything looks good... I'll have the nurse Come back in and draw some blood and then you will be good to go.."
