Charlie and Maria age 7, Sergio age 9

I ran as fast as I could, begging my lungs to keep up. My feet barely touching the ground as I flew across the forest floor.

"Charlie! He's coming!" Maria yelled from her spot in the trees.A smile lit up my face as my plan fell into place. Pushing my legs even faster, I heard Sergio yell after me,

" Charlotte Myers! Come back here and give me my DS!"  I replied by running faster and  throwing laughs over my shoulder. I heard Sergio pick up his speed as we neared the lake. Right befor I hit the water I grabbed the rope hanging over the lake and swung away from the ground. It was to late for  Sergio to stop though, he plowed right into the lake,

SPLASH!  The sound was barley even heard over the laughter of Maria and I. When I saw Sergio's head bob above the water I tried to scurry up the rope, but my foot was yanked on and I fell beneath the water. I swam to the surface and glared at me childhood friend, His striking blue eyes filled with mischief, stood out against his tan skin. I took in our differences, my light blonde curly hair, and his dark brown hair, his bright blue eyes and my forest green eyes. His tan skin and my fair skin. After comparing our looks a water fight broke out between us.

"Hey! Don't pick on my Charlie!" Maria screemed as she jumped into the water next to me. I looked at Maria and noticed that she looked exactly like her older brother Sergio except younger. Maria was a sweatheart and usually shy except when it came to me. She was fiercly protective and loyal, coming out of her shell and helping me pull halarious pranks, usually on Sergio. Maria was probably like that because of how my father treated me,

We played in the water for a few hours and decided to go back when the sun began to set. When we arrived at the Delgado's mansion Sergio and Maria's mama, Arcelia, was there waiting for us with towels and her special hot chocolate.

"So I see you guys had fun today. Tell me about it,"  Mrs.Delgado  smiled at us with her kind blue eyes. Her naturally tan skin, and curly dark hair made her extremly beautiful. Mama Arcelia was always kind and graceful, like my mama. Sergio and Maria looked exactly like their mama, except they had dimples. So next to the fire we told Mama Arcelia about our crazy day. She laughed when we told her about our prank, and kissed Sergio's cheek.

" Awww, poor babysito. Were the girls mean to you?" Mama Arcelia asked Sergio as he began to blush.  Instead of answering the garage door opened and closed, causing Maria and Serio to run screaming," Daddy!" Mr.Delgado was tall and muscular, with warm brown eyes and light brown hair cropped close to his head. Mr.Delgado picked up his children, not caring about wrinkling his suit.

'Hello Mi Amor," Mr.Delgado greeted his wife with a kiss on the cheeck.

"Hola Ricardo," She replied back lovingly, adoration shining in her eyes. I stared at the definition of a perfect family, an unwanted feeling a jealousy and lonliness appeared in my heart.

" I should be going now, my father will be expecting me home soon." I stated as normally as I could while I walked to the front door and tried to aviod the families pity filled eyes. Maria jumped out of her father's embrace and ran up to me, crushing me in a loving embrace. I hugged her back but was soon pulled into Sergio's arms. I quickly said my goodbyes and shut the front door.
