Alyssa's P.O.V
"She's not here yet."
Gavin hasn't stopped saying that since we arrived.
"She'll be here, just relax." I said as I picked up some milk.
"Wha-" He was about to say.
"Let's just pretend you want to get to know me while we buy groceries." I said.
"How about we ask each other questions like we're on an actual date?"
"Yeah, okay." He said.
"What's your favourite colour?" I asked him.
"Seriously?"
"What? We have to start somewhere." I said as he chuckled.
"It's just a question." I said as he started laughing.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry." He said as I hit him with my bag.
"Blue." He said.
"Typical guy colour." I said.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Nothing, just that it's expected for a guy to say that."
"Okay then, how about Green or Yellow?"
"No, no. You can't just change your favourite colour." I told him.
"Yeah I can." He said as he smirked.
Is he teasing me?
"I-"
"Gavin?" This woman said.
"Hey mom." He said as he kissed her on the cheek.
"Who's this?"
"Mother this is Alyssa. Alyssa this is my mother." Gavin said.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Hartman." I said as I offered my hand for her to shake.
"Is this one of your sluts Gavin?"
Seriously?
She doesn't even know me.
"No mother, this is my friend."
Now wasn't a great time to make her suspect our 'relationship' in any type of way.
"Yeah, he's being a good friend and helping me buy groceries for my new apartment." I said as Gavin looked at me.
I gave him a look that says I'll explain it to him later.
"If you'll excuse us, we have to go. I'm getting hungry and we've got some cooking to do." I told her as I dragged Gavin to the counter.
"What was that?"
"What? I had to stand up to her. Maybe this way she won't think I'm trying to sleep with you and actually start liking me." I said.
"What happened to the plan? You know, I'm paying you for a reason."
"I know, I know and I'm sorry. But since she hasn't seen us together before, she won't think I like you, she'll think that I want something from you." I said.
"You're right."
"If we show her that we like each other as friends first, maybe she'll start liking me and then we can start fake dating." I said.
"I'm sorry about that by the way." He said.
"Every time she comes to my house unexpectedly, she finds me with someone, and it's not like it's a one night stand really. I go on a date with someone, it goes great then my mom comes in and my date gets rushed out.
