Chapter 3: Random Karaoke

Rachel's POV

"Okay!" says Mr. Schue. "Who wants to go first?"

We are all waiting for our dinner and Mr. Schue insists that we sing at least one song, but we can't pick what song we do, how many people sing it, or who we sing it with. He brought three bowls, wrote all of our names on papers, wrote down numbers from 1-4 for the number of people singing, and then numbers 1-20 for songs. He calls it "Random Karaoke"

Of course no one wants to go first.

"Fine. I'll choose someone." says Mr. Schue. "I think our soloist should go first" he says as he looks at me.

I blush and stand up from by seat. I hear a few murmurs throughout the guys of the glee club. I hear Rory ask Sam. "When did she get so hot!" and then I see San with his mouth wide open staring at me. I look over at Puck and he winks at me. I can't believe my new look is having such an affect on guys, but I don't think Finn will be jealous. After all, a lot of girls like him, since he is the quaterback.

I reach into the first bowl, which has the number of people. I reach into the bowl and pull out a card that says "2" Then I reach into the second bowl and pull out a card that says "7" I'm singing "All of Me" I hope in get Finn. We would rock that performance. I close my eyes, reach into the bowl and pull out a card. I open my eyes. The card says, "Puck". Fuck. My. Life.

"Alright guys" says Mr. Schue. " Rachel will be singing All of Me with Puck"

Finn's eyes widen. "Oh c'mon, Mr. Schue. You can't make we do this. She can't sing a love song with him!"

"Sorry Finn those are the rules" says Mr. Schue. Noah stands up, smiling.

"Let's do this my hot little Jewish American princess" smiles Noah. I roll my eyes.

This feels so uncomfortable. Noah isn't as tall as Finn so I can't rest my head on his chest.

He starts the song.

"What would I do without your smart mouth?

Drawing me in you kicking me out.

As he sings he's looking at me into my eyes. I never noticed how brown and sparkly his eyes are.

"What's going on in that beautiful mind

I join in.

As the song continues, I start thinking about things. Do I like Noah? No I can't! Can I? How did I start liking him? Could it be his bad boy-ness? Or his...no stop, Rachel! You love Finn. Not Noah!

The song finally ends and he pulls me into a hug. "Nice job, Berry" he says.

"Thanks" I awkwardly reply. "You too" As I walk back to my seat, everyone stars clapping for us.

"Great job guys!" exclaims Mr. Schue. He then looks at Finn.

"I think you might have some competition for a duet with Rachel!" says Mr. Schue, jokingly.

Finn's face turns bright red.

Finn's POV

I can't believe that he Mr. Schue just says that! I know he was joking, but we all know that me and Rachel are THE power couple/duet partners of glee club. Puck will never take Rachel away from me.

As everyone else goes up to sing. I hold Rachel's hand across the table. Every time I think about Puck stealing Rachel away from me, my rub my thumb against the side of Rachel's hand. I look at her and she seems puzzled.

"You okay, babe?" I ask.

"Yeah" she replies, suddenly smiling. "I'm great!"
