Troubling truths

Raven was reading in her room like normal. Today's book was a romance that had started to play on ravens feeling. Raven read each word with intent absorbing every bit of information and with each line fell more and more in love. She looked to her door feeling a troubled presence knowing that on the other side robin stood still. His hand is raised into a fist almost touching the door as if a sheet of paper is all that stands in his way. He thinks about what to say and how to act then he decides to knock and yet he remains frozen to the spot only in that moment did he realise how nervous he really was his heart beating in his ears, sweet dripping from his brow and sliding into his mask, his breathing erratic and picking up even more. Raven got up from her bed and moved to open the door. It's time raven if you open this door no madder what you have to tell him how you feel. It's time everyone knew the truth. She heaved in a deep breath and opened the door. " Raven hey um sorry I was just about to knock" "robin there's something i need to talk to you about". Raven  looked him dead in the eyes not realising the swirl of emotions all on display for Robin to see. "It would be easier if you don't say anything" "okay sure what's up" raven let out her breath and moved to the side gesturing for him to enter her room. Robin understood and slowly entered careful not trip on the books he found a set on her bed and turned to look at her. "Robin your my best friend and I honestly don't know where I would be without you not just that stuff with my dad but from day one and this is really hard but in the time that we have been a team I have grown closest to you. And the truth is robin I started to develop feelings for you. It's okay for you not to return them I know how much you like starfire I just need you to know the truth." Raven realised that when she had started talking her eyes had drifted to her lap and now she slowly looked up to see a smiling robin. He grabbed her hand and took off his mask. Raven looked shocked and tried to stop him "what are you" "if there is anyone I would like to know who I truly am it's you. Raven you have no idea how much I care for you not as a friend or sister but as a girl that I really like" raven could see a light glow spreading across robins face and she would feel the heat on hers. "Robin" "please raven call me Richard when it's just us" " I will and the names Rachel" raven looked at his deep blue eyes and how they seemed to sparkle. Robin noticed that her usually burdened eyes had a beautiful glow and seemed to be in a daze from what just happened. The two birds could feel what the other felt finally and in that moment they both realised what had been there all along just never spoken.
