Chapter 5 To be apart of a family again

Zada

I remember everything that happened, other than who did it. 

"Can I get up?" I ask

"Sure, if you are ready to get up, then I'll introduce you to everyone." 

I nod, and get up from laying down. We don't walk too far away, and I see some people, they look at me.

"Zada, these are my daughters, Ada the eldest ant the one that hit you, and this is Lyra." She starts. "Over here are some nice people that have been looking for there son, and daughter."

I look up, right away I know who they are. I see that they have been crying. I run up to them.  I start to cry, because I am so happy. They hug me tight.

"I thought I would never see you again" I cry.

They start to cry too. 

"Where is Steve?" I ask.

"He left with Brent, Ada and Lyra's big brother." 

My jaw drops. 

"But he is only 11" 

"We know. They ran away, sometime yesterday." 

I start to cry even harder. I love my brother. He was not one of thoes annoying siblings. 

"We need to look for them!" I cry.

"Some people are, they just got back, they where gone for about an hour." 

I sigh. I walk over to where Ada and Lyra is. They are playing with Baby. 

Me: "Hi."

Lyra: "Hey, you alright?" 

Me: "Yah, my nose hurts a little, but oh well, I'll get over it."

Ada: "I'm super sorry, I thought you where a bighter." 

Me: "Its fine. I'm just glad that I found my mom and dad."

Lyra: "I'm glad I got mom." 

Me: "Yah, if not I would really be hurting right now." 

Baby walks over to me, so I pet her. 

Me: Hey, I have not eaten all day, do you have any food, I am starting to get weak."

Ada: "We looked for food in your bag for guns, and we found food, so we put it in our stash." 

Me: "So are we having diner or something?" 

Ada: "Ya, I think they are working on it now." 

Me: "What about the dog food? Its Baby's dinner time." 

Ada: "Its still in your bag."

I get up, and walk over to my bag, and get the dog food and bowl. I fill it. Baby must have hurd it, because she came running. Right when I move she starts to scarf it down. I can tell already she has gotten a little bit bigger. When she fineshd, I walked up to Ada and Lyra's mom. 

"Hey, uh where is my knife, I want it, in case i get in a jam." 

"Oh, we are keeping it. You dont ned it, you are only a kid. If you are going anywhere we have desided you have to go with an adult."

"What?! You have got to be kidding me! What if I have an adult, but they need backup?!" 

"Well then you both die" 

I look around and back away slowly. I go over to mom, she is at the cotts. 

"Hey, do you beleve that all of the kids should not have anything to protect themselfs with?" I ask.

"Yes, you could hurt yourself or others."

I look surprised. I pretty sure that dad will agree with me, so I go over to him. 

"Hey uh dad. Do you beleve that the kids should have wepons too?" 

"No." 

I walk back to all of the cotts, and get myself one. I reach into my bag and take out my laptop. For what ever reason, it has full bars, and full battry. I get on facebook. I scrool thu all of the pasts saying good luck. Lots of people are on. Wow the dead has come back to eat the living, and people are playing on facebook.  I cant beleve it. And they are now posting stuff like i'm so board. I start to laugh a little. I deside that these people are really beeing stupid right now, so I shut my computer down, and get up. I sneak down to the kicken isal, I look for a ggod knife, that I can hide. I grab the perfect one. Next stop is the shoe isal. I grab a convers boot, just in my size. I put it on, and put the knife in. It fits perfectly. Its barley notisable. Now I want some new cloths to go with everthing else. I pick out a big tee shitr, that you have to have with a tank, and some new blue shorts. I go into the dressing room to change. I walk out and my mom is there, just watching me walk out of the dressing room. She is kinda creeping me out. 

"Well im going to go get some notebooks and such..." 

She comtinues to stare at me. I step to the side, and walk away, she fallows me, I look behind me, she has blood shot eyes, she kinda looks pale. I put my hand agenst her head she is burning up. Then I see it, she was bit, on her neck. She is turning. I close my eyes and take a deep breath. I take my knife out of my shoe, and stab her it the eye. She gives a slight smarl, wivh is unlike her. Tears blur my eyes. I take a deep breath, I know that she was not human anymore. I put the knife back into my shoe. I grab a larger bag, and go get some stuff. when I get back I relise that I still have room in my other bag, so I put in in the other bag. Because my mom was bit a while back, I now have the guts to go see if there was an attack, and if anyone survived. Baby sees me and runs over. I grab her lesh, and put my bag on my back. I go and look. I walk just a little ways, and I see that there are tons of bighters. None notesed me yet. I get back. I grab some more stuff and put it in my bag silently. I look around. I see Ada and Lyra. I motin that they come with me, I beleve that all of the adults are dead. We quietly go out the back way. 

"What do we do? We don't have any weapons."  Ada whispers 

I look around, nothing here. 

"I know where a weapon store is, we can go there now. Its not too far away." I ancer back.
