New York, New Toni

I had just moved in from Vancouver yesterday. I lived with my parents, until a few days ago when a car crash changed that. I moved to New York to live with my Uncle.
Upon barely moving, I can already tell I was in for a rough time. The second I walk in there are beer bottles in the hallway beside the trash can. In the living room there is a single disgusting couch facing the small television, as apparently my uncle likes watching Hockey. That might be the only thing we have in common, as I played on my city's hockey team.
As it was a Sunday night, I decided to put on my costume and go for a swing throughout New York. This was the only thing about moving that excited me. Being able to swing through the building and smell the... Well... The smell isnt that good but I still loved having so much room to swing around.
After about an hour I decided to start heading home, until I heard a woman scream. I swung around the building I was perched on and dropped down to see a thug holding her purse. He swung at me, but he ultimately missed and threw himself into the wall. I grabbed the woman's purse and returned it to her, and that was when I first looked at her. She had beaming red hair, and these beautiful deep eyes I could look into for hours.
"Would you like this back?" I jokingly said, and she actually giggled at my question.
"Why yes, I would love having it back"
"Be careful ok? I would h-hate for that to happen again as you were walking home."
"I will be fine. Thank you... Um.. Who exactly.. Are you?"
The question tool me aback for a second. "I-I'm spider-girl"
After answering, I quickly spun up to the top of the building as I didn't know if I could keep talking to her without having a nervous breakdown. I checked my phone. 1:30. I should probably head home.
The next day I had to get ready for school. It was my first day, and I didnt know what to expect. Preps, jocks, emos, normal people you'd expect to see. I had decided to take my bike, as I didnt want my uncle to take me.
Once I got to the school, I looked and saw how much bigger it was than my old school. My old school had spray paint all over the inside, but this one was polished and clean.
       "Are you Antoinette Topaz?"

"Call me Toni. And you are?"

"Jughead Jones. I'm here to give you the full animatronic tour of spokeswood high."

        "Fun."

As we were walking through the halls, Jughead continued telling me about the english and history classes, but I was too busy looking around at the kids in the school. I saw these two boys leaning against their lockers. One of them was a foot taller with me with black hair and a black eye. The other was a bit shorter and a bit tanner. He looked like he was sweet.

"-and over here is the science clas-" Jughead started before being cut off.

"Well well well, I see we have a new student"

I turned around to see who said that and was shocked when I saw who it was.

"Cheryl, this it Toni. Toni Topaz. She just moved here yesterday."

It was the red-haired woman from last night.

"Nice to m-meet you." I barely choked out

Cheryl glanced at Jughead with a look that said "she's already hopeless" then turned back at me and smiled. She then walked away as the first period bell rang to go to homeroom.
I walked into homeroom shocked to see both Cheryl and the two boys from earlier were all in my class. Cheryl sat in the front next to a red haired boy and Jughead while I was put in the back.

"I noticed the way you keep looking at Jughead." The tall dark head boy told me

"No way. She's obviously looking at Archie." The tanner boy responded.

I ignored them and kept staring at Cheryl. Not Jughead, not the red-headed boy, but Cheryl.

"Sorry for not introducing myself. My name is Fangs. This is Sweet Pea."

        "Toni." I said back quickly.

"Fangs did you hear about what happened last night?" Sweet Pea said immediately after I spoke my name.

         "No what happened?"

"Apparently some people spotted someone swing from the buildings last night at past midnight."

"Ya sure, was it spider-man?" Fangs said jokingly.

I always hated being compared to spider-man. I like the character, but I never saw myself as him enough to believe I could be compared to him.
After first period I saw people talking to Cheryl about last night.

"That spider person everyone's been talking about today? Its a girl. Her name is spider-girl." I heard Cheryl say.

"How do you know?" Spoke the red-haired boy.

"A man tried to steal my purse, Archie. She came and got it back for me."

"Of course Cheryl. Cause everything you say we believe." A dark haired girl spoke.

"Shut it Veronica." She then turned to face Archie again. "And as spectacular as people have set her to be, she's shy. I could tell by the way she mumbled."

After that I started walking to second period, which was math. After that nothing very exciting happened, so I simply got on my bike to leave. I made sure my costume wasn't sticking out of my backpack, and I left to go back home.
Once I got home, I saw my uncle was asleep on the couch so I decided to go into my room snd check Instagram. "@jugsburgers has requested to follow you" I accepted jugheads request and looked through his photos. Fangs and Sweet Pea were in a few, so I realized they were all friends. The next photo was a class photo from first period before I came. I saw Cheryl and checked to see if she was tagged. "@cherry_bombshell." Seemed fitting. I requested to follow her then threw my phone to the foot of my bed. I decided I would just do my homework then go to sleep.
Right before I shut off my lamp to go to bed, I heard my phone buzz. I picked it up and read, "@cherry_bombshell has accepted your follow request." I looked down a little bit and saw she requested to follow me back. When I saw that I smiled slightly. Not too wide, but enough to send slight chills down my spine as I realized what I was getting into.
