The Peacemaker "She's The One"

It was a cold day, The neighbourhood was quiet if a pin dropped then I would be able to hear it.

The street lights were coated with the fogs mildew, something about the summer never felt right, It was always cold in Washington.

It's kinda scary to go on walks in the morning, Last year I heard around school that this girl name Emily was walking her dog when a man came out of the woods with a medal blade that pierced her side, Lucky she survived and was rushed to the E.R.

It's my Birthday today I'm turning sixteen,

I'm sorta a loner and I don't have much friends it all started when I was born,

Everyone thinks my mom was into witchcraft, She had planted this exotic herb and was burning it around the house.

I never really asked her about it, What would I say? "Mom are you into witchcraft"? I'm pretty sure I know her better than my neighbours, I hope I do?

I remember last years birthday party, I felt left out and like a fool.

My mom invited all the preps they made me feel ugly, throwing water balloons at me and making side comments about my family.

I wish things would get better but I guess people have always had harder times than me, why should I complain?

As I walk the wet streets I see an unfamiliar car in the drive way of our house, out of curiosity I brush the dust off the window shield and look inside,

There was a cross dangling off the dash and a Map Quest book on the passenger seat. The licence plate says Texas in bold letters.

When I got in the house I see my mom talking to this lady, She has white hair and her face was a little Wrinkly, They both look at me as in shock.

The Lady gets up from the couch which it has also had its days then she walks over to me, "Hi Avi Its really good to see you again, Do you know who I am"?

Her sour smelling breath was making me sick "No I'm sorry" Mom was sitting on the couch with a tissue in her hand, she looked like she has been crying for quiet a while. "Well Avi Im your Grandma"
