I woke up with the weirdest feeling in my head and stomach. It felt as something had been ripped away from me- something important. On the plus side, no school for a week. I needed to see him- Ben. i don't know why but every nerve in my body screamed at me to find him as a matter of utmost importance.

My attention was suddenly drawn to the rusty red-almost brown- stain on my jacket. I was scared and confused at this as i had no recollection of bleeding or making anyone else bleed so I decided I must have spilt ketchup on myself. I am so clumsy I thought to myself as I put it in the sink, which I filled with hot soapy water- with loads of bubbles- a child's paradise.

All of a sudden, my phone rang and buzzed in my back pocket. When I looked down at the lit up screen, I saw it was an unknown number calling me. Hesitantly, I answered the phone and to my surprise, heard Ben's calming drone asking me questions such as "how are you?", "what are your plans for the holiday?' and my favourite- though I would never admit it.- "Would you like to hang out with me today?".

I answered that question with a yes as quick as was humanly possible, to my embarrassment- though I don't know why I was embarrassed.- . We arranged when and where to meet.

At half twelve, I set off to the park around the corner from my home.

When I arrived at the park, I suddenly remembered why myself and others in the neighbourhood no longer come here.

There was fragments of different coloured glass- almost like a rainbow of destruction.

One of the four swings was hanging on by one handle and the slide was graffitied all over the surface and the wooden frame was damaged beyond the repair offered by the city council - mainly due to their miniscule budget of public areas such as parks.

I decided to sit by the only unbroken and not graffitied bench of the five available benches to wait for Ben to show up. I was fifteen minutes early, as was my custom, so I was not disturbed by the fact that he was not here yet. I was disturbed, however, by the feeling of unease and emptiness in my stomach. Just as I began to 'overthink'- as my friends and family say is also one of my customs.- the situation, I felt the pressure and heat of a hand on my right shoulder, which sent jolts of pure electricity to every nerve and cell of my body.

I looked up, past the hand and the arm to see who the owner of the appendage was. and to my delight, saw the beautiful, statuesque face of Ben smiling down at me.
