Chapter 3
Under a shaded tree in the school park sat three teenage girls; the dark green-haired of them is reading a book, the black-haired of them if busy reading the latest fashion magazine, and the redhead is leaning against the tree trunk with her eyes closed. This is how these three friends spend their lunch time.
“Steph?” a voice called out interrupting the reveries of a certain redhead.
“Hmmm?”
“You’re awfully quiet, what happened?”
Instead of answering, Stephanie or Steph, the redhead just scowled remembering the incident before the third period and what happened during third period.
The black-haired girl looked up from the magazine she was reading to look at Stephanie and said, “Steph, lighten up or else that scowl will be permanent.”
Stephanie gave the other two a small smile before asking, “So, my dearest queen, what do you think of the new comers?”
“How many times must I tell you to call me by my name Steph?” The black-haired asked, clearly annoyed.
“You know, I only do it to annoy you Yansey.” Steph said in amusement.
“Whatever.” Yansey said, rolling her eyes.
In the background they can hear the stifled laughter of the dark green-haired girl.
“And, might I ask what is it that you find funny Audrey?” Yansey asked in a serious tone but her obsidian eyes says otherwise.
“N-nothing.” Audrey, the dark green-haired girl said, still trying to hold back a laugh.
"What's the book you're reading Audrey?" Yansey asked her friend. Looking at the book with distaste.
"It's a book about black holes. It's pretty interesting, want to borrow it afterwards?"
Yansey sneered slightly. “Me? Read a book talking about boring stuff. It must be the end of the world.”
“Audrey, you know better than to ask Yansey if she wants to borrow the stuff you like to read.” Steph told the other girl gently.
Audrey shrugged. "Well, at least I tried."
Yansey and Steph shared a smile. Remembering the day they met the dark green haired girl.
xxFLASHBACKxx
A girl and two boys were cornering a clearly frightened tenth grader in an abandoned corridor. Demanding the frightened girl to hand over whatever she is clutching close to her chest.
"Hand it over Hamilton and we'll let you leave unharmed." One of the boys demanded.
The girl, whose dark green locks were shielding her face, shook her head.
“You know very well that we can do what we want with you here Hamilton and no one will even come to rescue you.” The girl said with a malicious glint in her eyes.
Under the hood of her eyes, she saw the expression in the other girl’s eyes and fear began to fill her as the other girl began to advance towards her. Audrey frantically tried to look for escape but it was futile she was surrounded by the school’s queen and her most favored lackeys.
“It’s no use escaping Hamilton.”
“Just give us the damn thing and let’s be over it.” The queen demanded.
“No…” Audrey tried to protest.
“Refusing a direct order from me? The queen?” The queen advanced farther and when she got closed enough she grabbed a fistful of Audrey’s hair and yanked it down so that they are face to face.
