Hi, my name is Madison. I am 9 years old. My whole life revovles around dance. I have been dancing since I could walk. I have won many tiara's and I am the national title winner for many catagories. And today is my biggest competition yet. I am only 9 years old but I am competiting in the 16+ catagory today. My routine is flawless and I can do it backwards, but I am so nervous.

I walked into the competition arena with the rest of my team. We always walked in together, because we all wanted to look like a team. We had matching track suits with our names on the back. As we walked in, I saw my biggest rival, Taylor, and I immediatly got even more nervous. See it all started in my first competition. Me and Taylor were in the same age catagory for the first time, even though is she 4 years older than me. Taylor had always won every single competition she went to, but this time was different. She didn't win. I beat her by 8 points. And from then on, she hated me, the only person to ever beat her.

"Well hello there" Taylor scowled at me.

"Hi, Taylor. How have you been?" I said, trying to make her mad by being extremely happy.

"Winning, unlike you I'm sure" My smile turned into an angry scowl within seconds.

"All dancers to their dressing rooms, we are about to open the arena" the speaker said, and not a moment to soon.

"Looks like I will see you on stage, just as you lose" she shot at me. I just walked away in an angry storm, not trying to get into a fight this early.

"Hey girl, we have to change now, our group dance is up first!" my teammate Paige said. I immeditaly open my bag and got dressed behind the curtain. Everyone had the same basic costume on, white leotard with a small skirt. We didn't really focus much on the costume this week, but our dance will blow them away.

"I need the first 10 competition teams for junior small group to please report backstage" the announcer said.

"Let's go!" Paige said as we all ran to the backstage area. We talked for a few minutes with the other companies and wished them luck and then our music started. Overall our performance was pretty good. I had sang on the track instead of the original artist, just for fun.

Then, it was time for my solo. I was backstage in my costume with my dress looking all perfect, not hair out of place on my head. I didn't even have time to go over my routine before they called my name.

"And up next we have Madison with Queen of Hearts"

I smilled as I took my place on stage. This was it, the single most biggest performance I have ever been to. I did all my tricks and turns perfectly, until it came time for a triple backflip. I slipped and landed on my knees and I heard a loud thack on the dance floor. I kept dancing though, trying to make it look like I meant to do that, that audience and the judges didn't seem to notice.

As I finished my last move I ran backstage, and just burst out crying. Paige had noticed that I hurt myself and came straight to the wings.

"Hey, are you oaky? you're knee hit the floor really hard" Paige said.

"I dont think so" I managed to say between sobs.

"Well i called an ambulence and they are on their way" Paige said, helping me up.

As we walked, or in my case limped to the ambulence, my smart brain thought "Hey, its okay to let go of the railing on the stairs" and as I let go, I fell down the rest of the way and blacked out.

I opened my eyes to see a bright white light. Oh my god did I die? Nope I see a TV in front of me, with the news on.

"And the rumors have been squashed that Liam Payne of One Direction and long time girlfriend Danielle Peazer are engaged." I smiled a little. They were one of my favorite bands, them and Big Time Rush.

"SHES AWAKE" Someone screamed.

"Woah, watch the volume there" I said, a little annoyed, still wondering who it was.

"Sorry Madison, we were just all worried" It was Paige.

Then the doctor came in, ignoring Paige int he process, and just started talking. "You are making a marvelous recovery, with your head injury. You suffered a small concussion, but you should be fine. But with your knee, I have some bad news. I am very sorry to say this, but you will not be able to dance, ever again, not like you used to. You tore your platela tendon and it is not reparable. I am very sorry" And with that my whole life changed.
