8 - The One with Mary Winchester

"Here is my baby~" Dean's mother singsonged the moment he stepped inside their house. Right behind him were Jo and Charlie smiling happily at her, greeting Dean's father John and younger brother Sam, who were standing behind the big hug. Mary checked on Dean with a scanning look, squinting her eyes a little while doing that "You lost weight, honey." she pointed out, but Dean just shrugged and pressed a kiss on her forehead, before he turned to the women's suitcases to take them to the guest rooms. The group watched Dean walk up the stairs in silence and after they made sure Dean couldn't hear, Sam, John and Mary stepped closer to Charlie and Jo.

"What's up with him?" Sam asked, "Is he alright? Sick?" John asked too and Mary asked "Is it the reason why he lost weight? Did someone call him fat?" Jo and Charlie exchanged a look, before they turned the Winchesters around and whispered "come on, in he kitchen" and the three of them let themselves lead inside the other room. They all placed themselves in different corners of the room, Mary took care of the thanksgiving preparations, John took a few beer for himself, Sam, Charlie and Jo out of the fridge and sat beside Sam on he Dining table after he gave Charlie and Jo theirs. The women helped each other with the food, while John and Sam took care of cutting vegetables and preparing dressings.

"So," Mary started "what's wrong with him?" Jo took a deep breath and leaned on the counter, playing with the tag of her cold beer bottle "You know that Cas came out, right?" the Wichesters nodded "well, he got himself a boyfriend too" Mary let her wooden spoon drop and stared at Jo and Charlie in disbelief. "What?" "Yeah, uh, a British colleague. His name is Mick, haven't uncle Chuck and aunt Rebecca told you yet?" John and Mary shook their head "No, they mentioned that they won't spend thanksgiving with us, but that was everything what was new-, oh my god, will they spend thanksgiving with that British family?" Mary asked putting her hand dramatically on her chest. Jo and Charlie nodded and Sam whispered "pay up."

The women stared at the act confused as Mary and John both gave Sam fifty bucks. Both cursing under their breath and a pissed look on their face.

"Okay, what just happened?" Charlie asked after a while, with Jo nodding beside her.

"Well, Mom bet that on thanksgiving Dean and Cas will come here and announce that they are a couple now, Dad bet that they will be a couple, but will try to keep it secretly because they are too afraid of what Dad will say and I bet that Cas came out but Dean didn't had the courage to tell him that he likes him, so he lost him to another dude, what means that his family and Cas' family are in the meeting phase what means that they will let us down a few more times, what is actually okay but will make us miss them even more." Sam explained happily and Mary growled in silence. John chuckled at his wife and looked at the both women who still were staring in disbelief "Yeah, we bet of what scenario we have to deal with. Sue us."

"Wait, you're okay with it if Dean would be-, uh, you know-" Charlie tried to ask, her cheeks heating up and her whole mind filled with gladness. Not just for Dean, also for her. She was afraid of what John might say, since she didn't really came out to the Winchester-parents.

"If he was gay? Why shouldn't I? I mean just because I don't share this interest? give those people a rest, they can't choose who they are attracted to. Nobody can." John mumbled, making Sam and Mary chuckle the very same way at the old man babbling. Charlie's heart dropped from the happiness which she couldn't hide anymore and showed her brightest smile. Mary leaned over and whispered into her ear "We know that you're attracted to women. It made him happy that you won't end with some asshole who probably just wants to mess around"

Jo and Charlie looked with wide eyes, about to ask how they knew, but Sam asked again "Okay, Cas won't be here because he spends it with his future-parents-in-law, is that why Dean so troubled?-" "Who said they are his future parents-in-law?" John asked, grimacing at Sam who just shrugged with a "Fifty bugs they will get engaged 'til Christmas." "Call, fifty on Dean making them break up until Christmas" Mary called and John looked between them and went along "Fifty on the engagement and that Dean will be a man and break it to get Cas until Christmas"
