A white streak flashed before Col's eyes, he didn't have to time to react before the pillar of fire was gone, absorbed by no other than Note. She laid on the hard, wet cliff, her fur burned to nothing and a huge wound in her belly. She looked at him with dying, terrified eyes, the prince slowly fell to his knees by her side. He stroked her beautiful, strong neck with tears streaming down his face. All sounds were tuned out, his surroundings moved in slow motion, his breaths were short and panicked.

- You're...gonna...be...fine, girl. I'm gon...na...save you. Please...don't...die, please...don't...leave me, he cried.

She neighed one last time and Col felt his heart being shattered into thousands of pieces. Seconds after the life ran out of her eyes and her body became stiff. Col hugged her head harder, he shook uncontrollably, tears streamed faster and faster down his face. His heart ached more and more by every breath, it felt like his brain was about to explode from memories.

- No no no, please no! Come back Note! Come back! NOTE! his voice, filled with agony, cracked. Why you?

Realizing she was dead he put her head down on the cold ground and stroked her one last time. Slowly he got up to his feet again, a hole had replaced his heart, he felt nothing. Terina looked at Note's dead body, shocked. Col swung his sword at her neck but a blue blade stopped his attack.

- Dad, he growled lifting his purple eyes to stare into his father's.

The king glanced at Note, he raised an eyebrow and grinned evilly. The point of the blue blade was right in front of Col's chest, he dropped his sword without a fight. The king walked closer, soon he was behind his son and pressed the edge against the prince's throat.

- She deserved it, he whispered into Col's ear.

It was like someone had poured oil on a fire, Col didn't move muscle yet his father backed away from him, his right hand was covered in ice, so was his blue sword. Black snowflakes descended from the sky, even though there were no clouds. The guards who still was alive mumble and caught the flakes, they didn't melt from the heat of bodies. Col looked with big eyes at the snow, he could feel inside that this was him, it was his snow, he who had created it, this was his power. Some meter away from him his father laughed evilly.

- Finally, I've waited 17 long years for this. Now, let's see what else you can do with the snow of yours.

Attacking his oldest son was not a problem for the king. Roaring like a bear he ran forward, with the sword over his head. Col panicked, he threw himself away from the sword. Every minute the snow fell the more tired he became, but he didn't have time to think about that. His father attacked again and again and again, the only thing he could do was dodge the deadly blade. Finally, he stopped, giving Col a minute to breathe.

- Come on Col, use your power. Use it to defeat me. Your sister learned to control it right away, and then he started again.

Col tried to direct the snow at him, he tried throwing out his arms and hands towards his father, he tried commanding with thoughts, he tried yelling out what it should do, but nothing worked. The snow just continued to fall silently to the ground, he had almost no energy left. Stumbling to keep his balance he tried dodging the attacks but he failed and fell. Exhausted, he laid on the ground, one of his hand disturbed the flowing water, the moon shined on him and the falling snow slowly disappeared. His black hair fell into his eye, he groaned when his father kicked him, the strength of the kick forced him to roll over. The king looked disappointed as he calmly approached the prince.

- I don't get why our ancestors feared the ones like you so much. Clearly, you can do nothing. You're useless, the snow of yours may be odd but it isn't dangerous. I thought you would be strong, especially since it took you 17 years to discover your power. It took your siblings 7 years and they are a lot stronger than you. You are weak.

Roaring like a beast Col let his heart control his power, he closed his eyes just letting every feeling he locked up in a room deep in his heart bubble up to the surface. He felt nothing and everything at once, his heart raced like he had run for a long time. He opened his eyes again, they glowed purple, forcing the green eyes in front of him to look at them. And what was left of the snow turned into deadly knives. They fell fast from the sky, like a deadly rain, most of them fell at his father who stared at them, frozen by fear. Right before the knives hit, a shield flew up and protected the king, behind him a familiar person stood. Col gasped and his eyes stopped glowing, the knives and snow disappear.

- Aaron, he growled and then everything went black.
