Chapter 19| Confessions

Lyanna was reading in her chamber when she heard Drogon's screeching in the sky. Putting her book down and Lyanna ran down the halls, outside the cliff she saw Jon touching Drogon. Daenerys comes down from Drogon and Lyanna smiles at her, while walking over to the both of them. Drogon turns and flies. Lyanna stood next to Jon as Daenerys speaks to Jon.

"They're beautiful, aren't they?"

"That wasn't the word I was thinking of, but, yes, they are. Gorgeous beasts." Lyanna hits Jon's arm and he rubs it.

"I happen to think they're very beautiful. I love Drogon's color. Black. It's beautiful and suits him well."

"Thank you Lady Lyanna," She turned to Jon with a look on her face,"They're not beasts to me. No matter how big they get, how terrifying to everyone else, they're my children." Daenerys turns to look at her three dragons as they fly over Dragonstone in the distance.

"You weren't gone long." Daenerys turns back to Jon and Lyanna.

"No."

"And?"

"And I have fewer enemies today than I did yesterday." Jon pauses and doesn't say anything,"You're not sure how you feel about that?"

"No, I'm not." Daenerys turns and starts walking towards the castle, Jon and Lyanna follows.

"How many men did your army kill taking Winterfell back from the Boltons?"

"Thousands."

"We both want to help people. We can only help them from a position of strength. Sometimes strength is terrible. When you first came here Ser Davos and Lyanna said you took a knife in the heart for your people."

"Lyanna and Ser Davos gets carried away."

"So it was a figure of speech?" Jon doesn't say anything. A group of Dothraki guards approach Daenerys and speak in their native tongue.

"This man says he is your friend, Khaleesi."

The guard steps to the side and Jorah Mormont stands behind him. Daenerys answers the guard in Dothraki.

"He is my friend." Jorah kneels before Daenerys.

"Your Grace." Jorah stands

Jorah stands.

"Jon Snow, Lyanna Stark, this is Ser Jorah Mormont, an old friend." Jon looks at him and smiles a bit.

"I served with your father. He was a great man." Jorah nods to Jon as Daenerys addresses him.

"You look strong. You found a cure?" Cure? What cure? For what?

"I wouldn't be here if I hadn't. I return to your service, my queen, if you'll have me."

"It would be my honor. Lyanna, why don't you and Jon have the afternoon together? I'll summon you both once me and Jorah has caught up." Lyanna smiles and nods her head.

Jon reaches out Lyanna's hand and she takes it, making their hands fit together, as if it was made for each other. As they ran down the halls of the castle, filling the halls with laughter, Lyanna's mind flashbacks to the day she first held a bow and arrow, her thirteenth nameday.
