Carter walks into a larger building labeled 'Nova." He gulps nervously and bites his lip as he sits down in waiting room. Carter may have a night job at the club and makes a lot of money, but he still feels like he needs to make more. He's always worried about these kind of things, wondering if someday if he isn't careful, he'll lose it all.
Just as Carter is lost in his thoughts, he notices a tall, young looking woman come in. She sits down right next to Carter, looking just as nervous as her."Nervous?" He asks softly, looking to the beautiful woman before him. "Very, I really need this job" She bites her lip and looks down at her drawing pad. "You?" She looks back at Carter, her smile widening as she looks to him.
"Yeah, I really am. You know how parents are with the nagging about on about 'you need a real job' and all that jazz." He tries to make conversation. Carter usually was good at picking up women, I mean he's done it so much, he was pretty much a pro now.
"Yeah, I get it. All parents do it, especially mine." She smiles shyly. "Well if I don't get the job, I hope you do" He says sweetly, still looking at the girl in front of him. "Thank you, you're so sweet.""Ms. Mae, he wants to see you now." Says the middle aged lady behind the desk."Well, thank you for everything. Hopefully I'll see you around...." She stands up, waiting for his name. "It's Carter, and you are?"
"Lizzie" She looks down and smiles, waving to him one last time before walking into the office.
After about 30 minutes, Lizzie comes back out and smiles to Carter. "Fingers crossed!" She smiles and crosses her fingers. "Mr. Aki." The woman says sternly and looks to Carter. "Good luck!" Lizzie says cheerfully before leaving Carter.
/Office/
Carter cautiously walks into the giant room filled with many windows and a large desk with a man behind it. "Take a seat." Says the man, his back to Carter.Carter slowly sits down and looks up to him, softly gulping. "I'm Jackson Park" He turns to face Carter and puts his hand out, "but you will call me Mr. Park."
Carter stands up and shakes the man's hand "Im Carter Aki" He says confidently, not letting Mr. Park intimidate him. Carter isn't one to be easily frighten by people, even if they have a lot of power over what he does. He promised himself that he'd never let anything or anyone ever get to him and hurt him again.
"Mr. Aki, let us begin" They both sit on opposite sides of the desk, Mr. Park leans forward, reaching for his resume. "Interesting" He states to himself while scanning over the paper.
"Mr. Aki, why do you want this job?" Mr. Park asks, not taking his eyes off the paper. "Well, actually...I'm a single parent of one child, I have a night job but I would like a day job as well to help support her." He glances at his resume, wondering why Mr. Park is intensely staring at it.
"Night job?" Mr. Park finally sets the paper down. "What is this night job you do?" He folds his hands and leans forward, waiting for a response. "Well, actually-" He bites his lip, a little hesitant to tell him, "I work at a strip club...a umm...gay strip club actually." He gulps, nervously waiting for a response. Every time he admits his 'special' job to someone, they each have a different response. Some can be good, but most of them are bad and judgmental followed along by the words 'why would you do something like that?'
"Gay strip club? Interesting" Mr. Park looks back at the resume. "That's new, I've never met a man who openly admitted to stripping, especially for other men."
Carter clears his throat "Dancing is Dancing no matter how you do it, I'm honestly not embarrassed one bit about it. I enjoy what I do." He states confidently with a bit of attitude, not caring if it pisses Mr. Park off.
"I admire your confidence Mr. Aki, it suits you. Now I hope you don't mind me asking this, but does this mean you're..gay?" He asks quite interested in his answer.
"No sir, I'm actually not. It may sound strange, but it's not. I love what I do and the attention I get from it. It also helps that I'm not attracted to any of the guys because I'm straight, so no one gets hurt" He smiles widely, happy Mr. Park asked."And you'd be a mechanic here at Nova?" Mr. Park asked while setting down the resume and taping his finger on the desk. "Yes sir, I've been doing it for a while now."
"Well Mr. Aki, I can confidently say that you have a very high chance of working here." Mr. Park stands and puts his hand out "I'll give you a call."
Carter stands up and immediately shakes his hand "Thank you so much Mr. Park for meeting with me." Carter begins gathering his things and leaves the building with a smile on his face.Once he gets back to his apartment, he tosses his jacket over the couch and notices a small paper fall out. Curious, Carter picks it up and chuckles to himself as he reads, 'Give me a call ;)' with a number written underneath it.
