"Ok Sekatsu, just sign here to be released. Your guardian will have to sign here too so you'll have to wait a bit." The nurse instructed and gave me a piece of paper.
Taking the pen, I did my best to sign it, but it just turns into a mess as always. Despite the unreadable signature, the nurse took it and left.
Now I was stuck here until one of the orphanage caretakers got me.
Hmm come to think of it, they never once visited me. But then again I don't even know any of their names since they switch so often. And sometimes even genin are assigned to the orphanage."Hey," Minato pushes the door open with a friendly smile. "Let's go!"
I was confused for a second before figuring it out. "Oh? The caretakers sent you to bring me to the orphanage right?"
He just playfully laughed and beckoned me to follow. I hopped off the bed and grabbed the scroll that contained the books for later studying. The nurse gave me a bag which held my clothes which were cleaned and folded.
Minato chatted my ear off the whole way. It didn't hold my interest long as my eyes absentmindedly took in the surrounding area. I could never get tired from the view. The building was tall and all had a red roof, a very nice color. I wonder what type of wood they used to get it so red? Blood from their enemies? I almost giggle at that thought. People harmoniously got together, they were so happy, shinobi and civilians alike. It's so mind-blowing to think that almost everyone in this village has seen bloodshed and death. That under all of the happiness was fear, death, gore, and so many more emotions.
Even the civilians know how to fight, sure, they won't beat a shinobi, not by a long shot. But they can easily beat civilians twice their size. After all, this is a Shinobi Village, things are never calm here. It's unbelievable that one of the safest places on Earth can also be one of the most dangerous places at the same time.
"Heyyy Sekatsu!" Minato shook me, trying to get my attention. I flinched and took a step back before observing my surroundings that have drastically changed from when I last saw it. The previous large crowd of people dwindled down to a few shinobi. They all looked tired, like returning from a mission or training. There were more trees than building too. This place is nowhere near my orphanage, that's for sure!
Alarmed, I couldn't stop myself from saying, "Even if you saved my life, I can't let you kidnap me."
There was a moment of silence between us. Heck, all the other shinobi suddenly stopped too, they probably hear what I said, since I didn't say it all too quiet.
After a moment of consideration, I added "You pedo." Since I already said something bad, why not add a couple of words to it. His face became blank like he was still trying to process my words. For a shinobi, he sure is slow.
Suddenly, another shinobi from the sidelines laugh aloud. And like a broken dam, others started to laugh, even the toughest looking men broke out in giggles, which looked extremely disturbing since his face didn't match his body.
"He's not a pedo kid." A fiery feminine voice sounded behind me.
I spun around, immediately spotting the mystery women. She was in the usual shinobi vest and had long red hair. Even though she had a smile, I instinctively thought that she could be a demon if provoked.
"Uh, whatever you say..." I blurted out like I'm gonna go against this crazy lady!
"Yes, I am not kidnapping you." Minato pouted, "I adopted you!!"
Wait, what? Adopted? Me?
"Why didn't you tell me in the first place?!""I wanted it to be a surprise!" Minato whined and grumbled under his breath, "I didn't expect you to call me a pedo..."
"Uh, sorry" I nervously laughed. "You not gonna, Uh unadopt me because of that right?"
"Huh?" Minato looked surprised, "How could you say that!" He dramatically acted like he almost fainted at the question. "I'm keeping you forever and ever and ever!"
"Uh, Thank you Mr. Nazamaki..." Wah, I bet my cheeks are bright red. How embarrassing!
"Call me Minato!" He grinned and pulled me along to the complex. We went into one of the rooms in the complex. It was a very small apartment, the kitchen, bed, and bathroom were practically all in one room. Not only that, it was a complete mess too. There were stacks upon stacks of books with paper scattered in every crevice of the room.
"Oh...Hahaha..." Minato nervously laughed as he scanned his place. "I forgot to clean up. Hope you don't mind!"
"It's okay...I don't mind." I stared wearily at the mess. Well, I kinda did mind, but whatever! I won't judge my savior!
He just smiled before pulling up the portable table and handing out pillow seats. I quietly sat in on the pillow as he made tea.
"So, what your name kid?"
"Eep!" I embarrassingly yelped when the red-headed lady broke the ice. When'd she get here!?
"Ha that's cute" She rubbed my head making my hair all wonky. Hey lady! Don't you know anything about personal space! Hmph, if you weren't so scary I would go crazy already.
"Mou, your such a cute kid! You're killing me with your pout, dattebayo!"
"I wasn't pouting..."
"Your face says otherwise, kid!"
I glared at her and slapped her hand away, well tried, she stopped my hand and kept petting me. "Don't call me kid! It's Sekatsu Gema."
"Well, I'm Kushina Uzamaki! Nice to meet ya" She had a silly grin on her face. Gosh, where is her terrifying-ness from before have gone?
"Lady, your not very scary anymore." I blurted out, once again my mouth goes off without my permission! A loud laugh rang out behind me, probably from Minato, though it was quickly covered up with a cough.
"Huh?... What'd ya just call me?! SCARY????" She scoffed and glared. Ahh...she's still scary...silly and scary...
"I'll show you scary...!" Kushina growled and threatening made claws with her hands.
...did I awaken a monster...? My head swung to Minato and pleading stare at him. Puppy Eyes ATTACK!
He just shrugged it off and clasped his hands together like a prayer before turning a blind eye to what was about to happen. And before I knew it, she tackled me as a scream echoed off the walls.
