Different

Chapter 2

I laid tossing and turning unable to fall asleep. I couldn't. I was tired but no matter how I lay down... I just couldn't sleep. My rooms upstairs in the attic. It's very spacious and I love how it is. I have two windows. I climb out of one and on to the roof. I find my little spot and lay down gazing at the stars. I found the sky beautiful yet, mysterious. I wondered if the sky had been alive and living. What has it seen? Is there things there still undiscovered? Is there an end to the great Galaxy? How did all of this possibly come from a 'big bang'? A giant explosion? I was completely unaware I was being watched when I heard a voice. " Hey roofie!" I sat up startled looking around for the source of the voice. My eyes suddenly made contact with another pair of light green eyes. "W-who are you?"

" Enzo, what about you? "

"Aria Coleman."

"Nice to meetcha. What are you doing on the roof?"

"To be honest I'm not quite sure. I just couldn't sleep so I decided to look at the stars."

"So we have a stargazer... At least we don't have a stalker for a neighbor." He says and laughs. I like his laugh. It has a comforting tone to it. So does his voice.

"So whatcha see?" He teases and I realize I've been staring, spaced out. I feel my cheeks run hot at the thought of how embarrassing that is. Just staring at someone for no reason.

" Um... I was just thinking and zoned out, sorry."

"Suuuure. Thats why your the color of a tomato? " He laughs at me and I feel a bit of annoyance.

"No, more out of embarrassment." I response letting somewhat of an annoyed tone seep through.

"Whoa, whoa, okay I was only teasing I didn't mean to make ya annoyed star gazer." He says with a sideways smirk.

" Mm... Sorry. Imma go now was nice to meet ya... Enzo?"

"Well go to sleep love."

"Don't call me that again." I say with a raised eyebrow.

He puts his hands up in defeat as if surrendering. "Okay, okay."

I laugh. It felt nice. I haven't laughed with anyone other than my aunt and uncle.

"She smiles! Yes! Score for me!" He says chuckling a bit.

"Score for you?"

"You seemed down, I wanted to make you laugh. You have a lovely smile by the way." He answers smiling sweetly.  Maybe life will turn around?

"I should try to sleep again. See ya around, Enzo!" I wave good bye and start to climb down.

"Night, Bella. " I paused for a minute. "Did you just call me-" but he'd already left.

I layed down in my bed. I was so tired an knocked out instantly. Tomorrow was gonna be a busy day.
