Sonic decided to stay in Camelot for a little while to make sure everything stayed okay. Or at least until Caliburn picks a new king. He didn't know what he would be doing. He thought that he'd just give orders and keep everything in peace, but no. Nothing in Sonic's life can be that easy can it? Papers, meetings, decisions. It was like being president or something. He didn't want to do the wrong thing and somehow bring war and chaos to the kingdom so he just didn't do it for a couple days.
One day, he was relaxing on his throne when Sir Lancelot came in.
"King Sonic, the Queen asked that you have the meeting 2 days ago and you still haven't gone. She is becoming impatient. She demands it within the next 24 hours." He said.
At this point Sonic was stressing, and getting worried. He needed someone to help him out. Someone who had been here and seen a king do all of this.
"Shad-I mean, Sir Lancelot. Look, I don't have a clue what I'm doing. I require your assistance." Sonic said.
"S-Sire? Y-You need my help?" He asked.
"Yeah. I don't know how to rule, but Caliburn insists that I be. I'm sorry if I seem like a bad ruler, I just need you to show me the basics and then I'll probably be fine." Sonic said.
"Y-Yes, of course. I shall assist you in your duties." Lancelot said.
For the next 12 hours, they did paperwork and helped Sonic make decisions. Then they both went to go have the meeting. Everything went smoothly and the other kingdom agreed to ally with them. Sonic went home exhausted.
"My lord, is there anything you need help with?" Shadow asked.
"No thanks Lancelot. You can rest for the night." Sonic said getting into his bed.
"Of course. G-Goodnight my king." Shadow said before walking away.
Sonic thought about Lancelot until he fell asleep.
Wow, he's so nice. Heh, only because I'm the king and he has to treat me nicely. I-I like it though... I want it to last as long as possible.
The next morning, he went looking for Lancelot, but couldn't find him. He asked the other knights but they said that they hadn't seen him since yesterday. That made Sonic worried, he needed his help.
He was on the throne when Lancelot finally came.
Sonic got up and walked to him.
"Hey, where were you? I need your help with everything." Sonic said.
"Actually, you don't need to do anything today my king." Lancelot said.
"W-What?" Sonic asked in total shock.
"Don't worry sire. Now, I shall get back to traini-" "Nah, you deserve a day off. Hang out with me. I don't have anyone to talk to because everyone is so busy. Come on Lancelot." Sonic said with a smile.
Sonic could see he was very confused.
"Come on, you can't say no to your king right?" Sonic asked.
"Y-Yes. That's right. O-Of course. Thank you my king." Shadow said kneeling.
"Heh, no need for that Lancelot." Sonic said.
"Oh, s-sorry."
"Hey Shadz-I mean Lancelot, are you okay? You seem to get nervous when your around me. You stutter a lot." Sonic said pointed out.
Shadow's cheeks turned a bright pink.
"N-No. I'm sorry." He said.
"Well come on, let's go to my room, and get out of your armor, you must be sweating in that thing. Take a nice bath." Sonic said.
"Yes my king."
