Chapter 3-I Love My Knight

"W-What? Where would I sleep?" 

"You could take half of my bed."

"N-No. I can't. It's not right." 

"Hey, I'm the king. I decide what's right. Besides, no harm right?" 

"F-Fine. I-I mean yes sire." 

He took of his armor and got into bed with Sonic. 

"How old did you say you were again?" Lancelot asked. 

"18." Sonic lied. 

He noticed that in this universe everyone was 3 years older, 15 + 3 is 18 soooo... 

"Huh, so am I. You look young to be 18. I thought maybe you'd be 15." 

"You look 15 too Lancelot."

"Th-thank you." 

"I know it's kinda late to ask, but do you have a girlfriend?" Sonic asked. 

He prayed that he would say no.

"No. I haven't found anyone yet, I mean... one person caught my eye recently." 

"Who is it?"

"Sire, I'd rather not." He said blushing.

"Come on, you can't not give your king an answer." 

"P-Please."

"Come on Lancelot."

"Sire I beg of you. Please don't make me say." 

"Fine fine. I can't let you go every time you know." 

"Yes, I understand." 

"Good. Well G'night Lancelot." Sonic said. 

Sonic fell asleep quickly while Shadow just watched him, no it's not creepy. He looked at peaceful and cute. Without thought, Lancelot hugged Sonic and cuddled with him. It felt nice, he was so grateful for everything that Sonic has done for him. He felt appreciated and he felt like someone more than just 'Sir Lancelot the strongest knight'.

The next morning Sonic woke up hugging Lancelot and him hugging Sonic back. Sonic smiled and muttered to himself, "Yes, I love Sir Lancelot." 

Lancelot woke up a couple minutes later. 

"I must get to work. I have so much to do." Lancelot said getting out of bed. 

"La-" "My king, I understand you appreciate me, thank you very much, but I'm still a knight. I mean no disrespect whatsoever, but I have to work and train. If I keep taking these days off, I won't be as good, trust me, I know what I'm doing sire. I'll try to do extra so we can do whatever you want tomorrow." Lancelot said. 

Sonic nodded and Lancelot left. The whole day seemed so boring. Sonic had almost nothing to do, everyone else was training so he had no one to hang out with. At the end of the day, Lancelot knocked on Sonic's door. He opened it and and a bloody Lancelot was standing in front of him. 

"W-What happened to you?!" Sonic asked. 

"Nothing sire. I am to inform you that you have no royal duties today." He said. 

"L-Lancelot... what happened to you? What did you do?" Sonic asked.

"I just got into a fight with another knight. I'll go clean myself up now." 

"I'll help you." 

"No sire. I don't need to be babied, I am fully capable of putting on a few bandages."

"O-Okay. Come back when your done." 

"Yes my king." Lancelot said with a smile. 

He came a while later and Sonic hugged him. 

"Lancelot... I... don't want you to risk your life like that." Sonic said almost crying. 

"B-But sire. I'm a knight, what do you want me to do? Don't fight?" 

"N-No... that's not what... I'm... just scared I'm going to lose you." 

"My king... do you not have faith in me that I will win and survive?" 

"N-No! Lancelot you don't understand!" 

"Sire I am a knight! If you can't handle being king then-" "LANCELOT I LOVE YOU GOD DAMMIT!" Sonic roared interrupting Lancelot.

He stared at Sonic. 

"Lancelot... I love you. It's hard... I know you're a knight. Just the thought of knowing that any day now you could lose the one you love... do you know what that feels like? Maybe I can't handle being king... but I'm going to try."

Lancelot hugged Sonic and he hugged him back. 

"Sire... I love you too." 

"No you don't... you're just saying that because you don't want me to be sad." 

Lancelot then pulled Sonic's head to his and kissed him, passionately.
