**PICTURE OF RAFFY ON THE SIDE**
Chapter 2
"Bon guet chasse malaventur"
Good watch prevents misfortune.
My Grandfather use to say that, he took it literally as he looks out for his company's assets. And of course when I usually ran up to him crying from all my dates back then.
I should have listened to him. I should have been vigilant. I shouldn't have been dumb.
From the moment I've met him, nothing have been fortunate, well it's a different case for Samantha.. she's the blessing I haven't seen coming. Nevertheless, even if my daughter has taken up my world, he keeps on bringing turmoil, crashing it down bigtime!
"Raffy, don't you remember me?"
"Etha-"
"Raffy, I'm not Ethan! Though he's in town too." Huh? What are-
"I could take it as a compliment but No, I couldn't." He chuckled. "I have better features than my brother" As he trails his eyes down his.. ugghh MEN! But what did he just say?
"Brother?" I asked.
"Raffy, you don't remember at all, do you?" I shooked my head in response.
"I'm Caleb, Ethan's younger brother!" he said as he tried to reach for me, but I backed away a few steps. He sighed.
"I took you and your friends to the Full moon Quad when we were in Stanford. In tradition, you wanted to meet "the devilish handsome seniors" so I took you to my brother's-"
"I remember now!" The traditional full moon quad of Standford University...he was still on braces back then, my freshman year, and the last year I spent in it. I will never forget.
"Great!" relief flashed over his face.
"Well, Caleb, it's nice seeing you again.. but I need to be somewhere."
"Oh, well.. I guess, I shouldn't be keeping you then... but I gotta say..your daughter is quite a charmer just like you" Sam squirmed wanting to face him, but I held her face away.
"thanks" I mumbled.
"We should have coffee sometime! Amm your husband wouldn't mind, would he?"
"Ahh I- amm I don't" I shooked my head slowly, unsure If I would lie and just agree "...I might not have time, you see?" I caressed Sam's back.
"Oh yeahh.." his face fell in disappointment "...well I guess I'll see you around?"
"Amm sure, bye" I turned around, and never looked back.
Sonia's POV
Jesus Christ! Finally!
I've been stuck here for twenty minutes because of the stupid parade! So as soon as I saw an entrance, I almost broke my gas pedal in victory. I hope Raffy's client won't get ballistic for being late.
As I parked on the street where Raffy's assistant has instructed, I took a good look at it.
"Nice"
Her client did a great job at decorating this warehouse.
"You'll surely be the gem in this event, buddy." Tapping on the boxes of cupcakes.
As I ascend through the mahogany stairs and made my way to the reception.
"They'll surely have quite a handful of guest here" Cocktail tables are everywhere!!
"Ehem"
An irritated cough made me apologetically swing my head in its direction. There stood an elegant woman in a chignon hairdo wearing a dolce and gabbana sundress. I would have adored her but the forming scowl on her face told me otherwise. Hmpf! That dress was so last year! I smiled at her even so.
