CHAPTER TWO

I was fed up. Scratch that, I was extremely fed up with Blue and her bossy orders.

"I know she's the beta and all, but there is no need to come over and boss me around the way she does!" I complained to my sister, Charlie. Charlie and I are the closest out of all the pack, she always seems to be there for me, even through the tough times.

"Is she only picking on me because I'm weak?"

Charlie paused before she spoke, "You're not weak, Y/N. It's just," She paused again, "I honestly don't know but what I do know is that you're not weak! You don't need her anyway, you got me!"

I huffed in response to say 'thanks' and she continued to chat while I was stuck in my thoughts.

The day was boring because there was no prey to be chased. I decided to play around with Delta to pass the time.

"Y/N, do you think our Alpha will be here today?" She questioned. "Of course he will, he is our Alpha after all." I began to think about him, I wish I had gotten him the other day but the other part was thankful that I didn't.

A sudden feeling hit me and I was confused as to what it was. Whatever it was, I didn't like, at all. But then, it was probably nothing.

I looked over at Blue to see her walking around and keeping an eye on things. I huffed, "At least he does a better job than Blue."

"What was that?" I heard the chirp of Delta and I jerked my head up from surprise, "Nothing."

Delta went to say something but a voice interrupted her. It was our Alpha.

Running over, I barked in annoyance  because I was bored and I was starving. He looked down at me as he was standing on the catwalk and he waited for the others.

Barking and giving out, they finally arrived and I saw Owen smile, "Alright guys, alright! It's not my fault Blue ate the pig."

He walked over to a bucket and from what I could pick up, treats were inside it. He threw one to all of us, but I barked for more. I heard him chuckle and he threw one more piece at me.

Blue then decided to push me out the way and she snatched the piece of meat. "That was mine!" I barked and she snarled at me, "Well, it's mine now."

She dismissed me and I watched her walk away, anger bubbling up inside me.

My jaws were in the metal muzzles and I looked around to see that the others were in the same situation.

I saw the Alpha's friend walk by and I began to think of the feeling I got while I was thinking about him earlier.

Was it nothing or was it actually something? I don't know.

I then saw Owen walking towards me. He looked for bumps or scratches, which I was clear of. He gave me a scratch on the head and I huffed, letting myself relax. I did enjoy being petted and getting the attention.

Owen smiled and then another human made his way towards us.

Straight away, I didn't like him. I know a rat when I smell one. I growled while Owen turned his attention to the man. Then, the man looked at me,

"What's his name?"

"She's a girl and her name is Y/N," Owen corrected and he looked down at me. My E/C eyes looked at his, I was not happy with this stranger.

"Could I maybe..." I heard the man mumble and Owen nodded his head. I growled, letting off a warning but I don't think the man understood.

I kept a close eye on him as his hand got closer. The man smiled when he 'realised' that I was going to do nothing but he thought wrong.

With one shake of the walls, he stepped back with fear, "I thinks that's enough."
I grunted and Owen chuckled, "Looks like she doesn't like you."

Damn right I don't.

○○○The Next Day○○○

"What is your problem!?" I barked at Blue, "You're the problem! You disobey everything that I ask you to do!" She barked back.
In a situation like this, I'd usually lower my head to show that I was sorry but not this time.

It turns out that a little quarrel can turn into a fight.

We scratched and snapped at each other until we were bleeding. But whatever way Blue got me, she sent me tumbling to the ground. I tried to get up but she caught me in her grip. She shifted all the weight onto her leg that had my neck in a tight hold, "Never, ever, disobey me again."

I could feel her claws now digging into my neck and I tried to escape from her grip but I couldn't.

"Because next time, I won't hesitate to kill you."

She let go and I watched her walk away. Moments passed and I got up with a heavy grunt.

Did I really push it too far this time?

I walked around the paddock while the others were inside the jungle, probably resting.

I could feel somebody watching me so I looked around and it turned out to be my least favourite person.

Charlie heard the name 'Hoskins' when people were talking to him, so we agreed on calling him that.

He was looking right at me with a smug smile on his face. "What are you looking at?" I barked as I walked closer to the gate. His smile widened and he suddenly threw something at me.

I jumped back and I heard a thud on the ground. I grunted and I sniffed to see what it was, it smelled like the treats that our Alpha gave us.

I'm not going to eat that, he could've poisoned it for all I know!

I thought for a moment again and I stared at it, then again, it is a free treat.

"I didn't poison it!" I heard Hoskins say, and I looked up at him, "I swear, I didn't."
I grunted in response and I picked it up with my jaws and I gulped it down. "I don't think I did anyway." I snarled at him and I watched him as he walked away with a chuckle.

I hate him. I wish I could kill him.
I turned around and I ran into the jungle.

But I won't worry, I know I'll get my chance.
