"See you tomorrow," Mrs. Hawkins called out as the bell rung and every student hurried to get out as fast as possible.
I, on the other hand, took my time to put my supplies in my bag. I never saw the necessity to hurry out of the classroom if your still gonna have to wait.
I slang my bag over my shoulder and began to walk out with Hannah by my side.
Some kids were by their lockers chatting among themselves, others sucking each other face, while some seemed to be having a contest to see how fast their feet could carry them to the nearest exit door.
I turned my head towards my right to see the three musketeers, as they like to call themselves, pushing an average height kid with dark brown hair to the lockers causing his glasses to fall off and books to drop to the floor. The kid looks up to them with horror in his eyes and looks around him for help but there was none. Everyone else minds their own business as they continue walking ignoring the kid being bullied.
Nobody dare to go against them or cross their path since it was said that they were in a gang. I personally don't believe it, they just either want attention or just want people to leave them alone.
"Okay, so I text Ethan and I told him about this week's movie" Hannah comment but soon realized what where I was looking towards. "Are you going to help him or what?" She questioned.
I looked at her quite confused with what she said. Most of the time it was her trying to talk me out of doing things that would cause me to get in trouble.
"What?" I whispered-shouted. "You do remember what my brother threaten me with if I was sent to the office again, right?"
"Yeah, yeah. I remember he said that you would have to do the house chores for a whole week," she said as she rolled her eyes and dismissed it by flipping her hand and adding. "But you do know they won't leave that kid alone until someone puts them in their place, and only you can do that."
In the past years, they've bullied more people than anyone else who has stepped foot at this school and no one has done anything to stop them except, me.
I have a tendency of helping those who are too scared to fight against them. I usually just stepped in and tell them to leave whoever that day's person is to be left alone. Sometimes they don't care and think that since I'm a girl I can't fight, but they're wrong.
Three years ago, when I was 15, I met my mother's brother, Robert.
Robert was in the Military and said that women should always know how to defend herself because men always think they are superior to us women. So us women should know how to put them in their place so that they'll remember next time.
So at the age of 15, I was learning self-defense and a few other tricks with my uncle, but I was told to only use it if necessary.
"Fine then" I sighed throwing my hands in the air. "Just don't complain when I'm calling for backup to clean my house."
She gave me an annoyed look and grabbed my bag as she sighed for me to go.
As I approached them, I saw that it was the one and only Jaxson Sullivan. The one who had was said to sleep with a new girl every night, Mr. always late to class, and the supposed leader of their 'gang'.
If he was anything but a manwhore, I would find him attractive. He was about 6′2 with dark brown hair, sky blue eyes, and a sharp jawline. He was wearing a light grey long sleeve that showed his built muscles with black ripped jeans.
I was soon standing behind them but they were to busy humiliating the boy that they didn't even notice me. "Guy's what did I say about messing with a kid last time"
Soon all three of them stopped and turned around to face me. Ryan was on my right with a cast on his right hand, Jason in the center giving his signature smirk as he looks me up and down, and lastly Jack who was on my left with a cute bruise right below his cheekbone from our last encounter.
All three of them had similar physical features except for Ryan who had forest green eyes and who was slightly shorter than the rest of them, and Jack who had black hair with tattoos running down his left arm.
Jack narrowed his eyes at me. "What is it to you, huh? Why don't you just continue walking and we might be courteous enough and let you slide by."
Slowly the kid reached down to collect his supplies without making any noise but wasn't quick enough to get a hold of them, Ryan was soon by his side dropping his books back to the floor.
He shoved him back into the lockers. "Not so fast their Max, we're still not done."
I push Jaxson out of the way and grabbed Ryan's left arm and twisted it behind his back as I whispered. "What did I say would happen if I saw you messing with a smaller kid last time?"
He tried to free himself but I just got a tighter grip on him.
Jack took a step closer from my left.
"I would watch it, Jack. You don't want to have a matching bruise on your left side. Now do you?" I asked as I faced them and pushed Ryan back, who slightly stumbled towards an amused Jaxson and a furious Jack.
Once I assured they weren't gonna make a move I turned towards Max.
"Okay buddy, come here" I help him get up and gave him his glasses and books that were scattered across the floor.
Before I knew what was going on I was shoved against the lockers. I looked up to see Jack.
Of course, he'll try something, it always has to be him.
"Well, I guess you'll be having a matching bruise after all."
He stormed towards me and aimed for my left side but I was fast enough and was able to duck down as I came back up and aim towards his right side. He groaned and backed away.
He came at me again faking a right and went for my side once again but missed making me trip and fall.
He kicked my ribs twice before I got a hold of his foot and twisted it making him hit the floor, face first causing a crack to be heard.
I stood up and was about to kick him when I heard a voice behind.
"Melanie and Jack in my office now!"
