Interview:

Dixiechicka: First question, are you anxious about going into the ring?

Mike: Pretty nervous. I don't want to have to hurt anyone. I just hope that it won't be painful... For anyone (me or anyone else).

Dixiechicka: Do you have a girlfriend? If so, what's one thing you like about her?

Mike: I have liked a few girls, but none are officially my girlfriend.

Dixiechicka: Do you have any pets that you will miss while in the ring?

Mike: Not that I'll miss

Dixiechicka: Thanks for your time and may the odds be ever in your favor!

Reaping:

You know how people always have a day where nothing is going right? That day for me, is today. I was woken up early by my aunt.

"Hey, go downstairs and make your siblings breakfast." She said as she went to the bathroom. I went right back to sleep. I was woken up half an hour later by having a bucket of ice cold water poured on my face, my aunt was standing over me with an empty bucket and a crazy look on her face like she couldn't get something out in the bathroom and was still trying. "Go Downstairs... And make your siblings BREAKFAST!!" I then got up and went downstairs and got breakfast together (I'm a morning person). It is quite a different thing to live in my house. You see, I don't have one sibling, I don't have two, not three, I have five. Twin younger brothers, and triplet younger sisters. I am the oldest and the only one who doesn't have a companion. I have to care for all of them. I used to have older brothers and sisters but they were either reaped or they volunteered and didn't make it. Anyway, the kids were enjoying their breakfast, but they are all kinda sad.

"Hey, what's the matter?" I asked, they stared at me like I was insane (which I was partially).

"Today is the Reaping. We are all old enough for any of us to be picked." Mitchell said. Mark hugged him. The twins were always hugging each other. Then the triplets started to hug, Maria, Mandy, and Margret. (My parents like names starting with M).

"OH, COME ON!!!! You are that worried that your name will be reaped? There are dozen of different names in those bowls, on top of that, your names will only be in there once or twice." This snapped them back to reality. "Your names will not be called. Now, let's get you ready for the day."

We somberly got ready. We got there with seconds to spare. I got them in line and got into my spot.

"Welcome everyone! Let's get started right away. How about the girls this time?" She reached her hand in. She called a name, but I didn't pay attention, all I know is that it wasn't my sister. I was praying that none of my siblings were called. The girl that was called went up to the stage. I kept praying and praying and praying.

"Now, let's do the guys." Please, not my brothers. She reached in a pulled one out. "Mark Adams." Three people stepped out of line and looked around confused. "Oh, sorry. He is the brother of Mike Adams and twin to Mitchell Adams" No, not him.

"NO! NOT MY BROTHER!" It was Mitchell. Mark was taken by the arms by the peacekeepers. Mitchell started to fight the peacekeepers. "NO! YOU WILL NOT TAKE MY BROTHER AWAY FROM ME!!!!" He kicked and screamed and punched, everyone just staring at them.

"STOP!" I said in my special way. It wasn't any louder than my normal voice. I didn't say it any different way. There was one major difference. There was more power, more confidence, more command. "I am going to do it for him. I... VOLUNTEER!!!!"

Everyone was staring at me. Mitchell looked at me in horror, Mark with the same but with gratitude mixed in.

"Mike... don't do this. I would rather it be me than you." Mitchell said.

"No, it needs to be me." The peacekeepers let go of Mitchell and moved over to me. "No need." I walked in front of them. I stood on the stage over-looking everyone. My siblings screamed for me not to go. But I didn't listen, it was all I could do to keep from crying or screaming back.
