Chasers

Chapter 3

I leaned against the brick wall in the shade while we waited for Cousin Calvin to bring the car around so we could put our luggage in. We had just made it back from Texas and he insisted that he pick us up from the airport. I don't know if it was the heat or if I was just not in the mood , but I was aggravated as hell. It felt like it was taking him forever to come on .
Just as I was about to complain the all black Infinity that he drove came pulling up in front of us. Cousin Calvin hopped out after popping the trunk to come help us put our bags in the car. I got in the front seat and Kehlani and Dayza got into the back. The car was already cold so it didn't take me long to cool off. Cousin Calvin hopped in the car once he was done putting the bags up and wasted no time pulling off.
"Baby Ace!" He smiled making me laugh and i roll my eyes. "Whatchu' all frowned up fa?"
"It was hot out there." I whined wiping my face.
"Hot ain't the word!" Kehlani commented from the back . Cousin Calvin looked up in the review mirror and smiled .
"My girls !" He cheesed still looking through the rear view mirror.
Everytime he sees us he acts like he haven't seen us in forever. We just seen him a few days before the funeral and at it, but I appreciate all the love. We're currently headed to Beachwood to make an unexpected visit to Tay's house. Kehlani and Dayza wanted to waste no time and neither did Cousin Calvin .
From the records and what I've heard about Tay from Cousin Calvin , he's been working for my Uncle Ace for a long time. Obviously my Uncle must've trusted him or felt he had skill to put him in charge of running shit at the trap. Cousin Cal told me they never did have any problems out of him so I was willing to hear him out. Someone was gone suffer some consequences for stealing and if he couldn't find who actually did it, it would have to fall on him.
We pulled up to a nice lil town home that looked to be about 3 bedrooms . There were 3 cars in the driveway and Cousin Cal parked at the end of the driveway blocking them all in . He reached over and opened the glove box where there were two black 9mm Glock 19's with suppressors. He passed them both to the back giving the to Kehlani and Dayza and instructed me to grab mine from under the seat.
"Now we ain't coming here to murder this man in his living room , but keep ya guard up a'ight?" I stuck the gun in my waist band letting the t-shirt I wore fall over it so you couldn't tell I had it. Dayza did the same and Kehlani had on a tank top so she stuck it in the purse that she carried . Once we we were all ready we exited the car swiftly making our way to the front door.
Dayza knocked on the door and we all waited patiently for someone to answer. After a few moments no one had came so I decided to ring the doorbell . I could hear someone approaching the door and when it opened it was a short light skinned girl .
"Can I help you?" She asked looking all of us over.
"Yea , is Tay here ?" Dayza asked looking past her into the house . The girl stepped to the side blocking Dayza's view and her face became stale.
"For what? Who's asking?" She asked with an attitude mugging us all. Cousin Calvin laughed and she shot him a glare. "What the fuck is funny?"
"Bitch you better watch who the fuck you talking too , don't worry bout' who the fuck we is that ain't none of your concern." Kehlani started stepping forward. "I advise you to go get Tay before we come in and get him our damn self."
Before the girl had a chance to respond a tall brown skin boy walked up behind her. I'm assuming this was Tay because when he seen us he stepped in front of the girl shooing her away. She smacked her lips and mugged Kehlani before walking off back into the house.
"Wassup Cal , what's all this." He said overlooking us and speaking to Cousin Calvin.
"What's all this ? This is about us tryna' see why the fuck thousands of dollars coming up missing from a trap yo' ass is supposed to be running." Dayza said putting her finger in his face .
"So you gone let us in or what ?" Calvin said flashing his gun . Tay's face dropped and I couldn't help but laugh. He already knew what was up.
He stepped back and opened the door wider so we can enter the house. After we were all inside he shut the door. The house was clean spotless,  you wouldn't think anyone even lived here . We followed him down the hall to a room they had turned into a office . He had a desk some extra chairs, file cabinet, and a computer. Dayza shut the door being last to enter . We all looked at Tay waiting to hear what he had to say .
"Look I ain't take shit from y'all . I don't handle the money directly, I manage shit, I make sure shit get done." He started looking between the four of us .
"Can't be managing shit too well if you let money walk right out the door."I said rolling my eyes sitting at the desk . "Take a seat."
He sat in the chair on the other side of the desk looking irritated. The damn audacity he had , I don't know who the fuck he think he is. Kehlani took a seat next to him and Dayza sat on top the desk crossing her legs . Cousin Calvin stood by the door watching the scene play out.
"Man look , like I said I ain't take shit from y'all a-" he started but before he could finish his sentence Kehlani had snatched her gun from her purse and pistol whipped him upside his head.
"You out yo' damn mind talking stupid. You already in a bad situation bitch." Kehlani yelled cocking the gun and pointing it at his head. He yelled out in pain holding his hand over his eye as blood began to leak from it.
"That looked like it hurt." Dayza said sarcastically. "So tell us Tay , if you ain't stealing from us who is? Because it's not looking too good for you right now buddy."
"I swear I haven't taken nothing from y'all . Just like y'all noticed I noticed too , I been looking into it and I got an idea, but I ain't completely sure. I ain't come to y'all or Ace because I ain't want y'all to feel like I couldn't do my job." He panted still holding his bleeding eye.
"Nah ion' believe that shit, I think we should just kill him." I said looking at Dayza and Kehlani for their opinion.
"Yea we can , but what about the bitch outside?" Kehlani asked still pointing the gun at his head .
"I can go take care of her right now and we can be out of here in less then 5 minutes." Cousin Calvin shrugged finally speaking.
"No please, I swear! These lil niggas, all they do is be on the block and sell weed by the gram . Now all of a sudden the lil niggas got whips and jewelry flexing and shit , right around the time money start coming up short . I ain't got no solid evidence, but I know it's these niggas. C'mon Cal you know me you know I always been down with the chasers!" He pleaded for dear life.
That cocky shit was gone out the window and he was now begging for his life. I looked at Uncle Calvin who looked like he was contemplating.
"I think he telling the truth." Cousin Calvin said pushing himself from off the door he was leaning on and walking over to us. Tay let out a breath of relief. "That don't mean shit sweet though."
"Not at all." Dayza said looking at Tay like he was stupid.
"Getcha' self cleaned up and we gone take a ride to find these lil niggas and you gone do what the fuck you should've done when you even suspected they asses was taking money." Calvin said motioning fa him to stand up .
"They just kids Cal , I wanted to be sure. The oldest one only 17 ." He said standing to his feet , still holding his eye.
"We don't give a fuck ." Kehlani said looking at him stupid as she stood up as well . "They wanted to be grown and steal. They knew what it was when they signed up for the shit."
"Ima wait on him to get his self together then we gone ride over to where the niggas be at and get the situation under control." Cousin Calvin said while digging in his pocket . He pulled out his keys and tossed them to me . "Ima ride wit him in his shit and I'll meet y'all back at y'all place a'ight?"
"Sounds like a plan." I agreed before standing from my seat behind the desk.
"And Tay next time you see us you better show some fucking respect or killing you won't be up for debate." Dayza said before heading towards the door with Kehlani and I.
"I apologize." He said looking between the three of us . Neither of us responded, we left out the door taking the same route out the house as we had came in.
I drove Uncle Calvin's car back to our house like he had instructed me to. I grabbed my luggage out of the trunk and dropped it by the door soon as I got inside. I went to the closet where we kept Cane's stuff and grabbed one of his leashes and his dog food. As soon as I opened the sliding door leading to the backyard he shot out of his dog house wagging his tail.
I grabbed his food bowl and filled it up with the dog food. As he ate I grabbed his other dish and went onside of the house and filled the bowl with water from the hose pipe. As I went to sit the water bowl onside the food for Cane my phone began to ring. I pulled it out of my pocket and seen that it was Deshane trying to FaceTime. I sat down in the grass and answered the call waiting on it to connect.
"I thought you wasn't gone answer , it took you forever to accept a nigga' call." Deshane smiled into the camera once the call connected.
"I been answered the phone , that's dat' pooh ass connection you got." I responded making him laugh.
"Ian' even gone lie Sprint do be tripping." He laughed. "But wassup witchu', you back home?"
"Yah , I'm just making it in."
"Dat's wassup , you enjoyed your flight?"
"Yea it was straight or whatever." I shrugged .
"But look , me and a few of my potnas hosting a event at that club Emarald tonight and I want you to be there. You can bring your sister too."
"What time?"
"10 , and we gone have our own section so you can just hit me up when you get there so I can walk y'all in."
"I'll think about it."
"You'll think about it? Don't stand me up nah Audi." He said slightly mugging me making me laugh .
"Yea I'll think about it , I gotta' see what my schedule looking like."
"Here you go with that schedule shit." He laughed . "But foreal, ima' call you a lil later and I want a definite answer."
"Alright." I agreed , and with that he hung up.
I looked up and Cane was laying in the grass in front of me resting. I was going to take him for a walk, but I had changed my mind . I was beginning to sweat from being out there in just that short amount of time so I know I wouldn't survive a walk.
I walked back into the house and saw Kehlani knocked out on the sofa. I was fucking with the energy, that heat had done wore me out too. I headed upstairs to my room to take a quick shower and lay my ass down .
