Looking around at the few computers in the abandoned facility showed you how advanced this whole thing really was.
"______ I'm going to confront him alone. I don't want to drag you into this part."
"I don't agree with that Peter, but I'll do it. I'll be behind one of the pillars incase you need my help."
You look at him for a moment.
You lift up his mask and give him a quick kiss on the cheek, "Just...for luck." You mumble.
"O-oh yeah! For luck." He smiles.
Peter walks to confront the Vulture and you slide into place, you pray nothing happens, but you know something always does.
_
"Oh, hey, Pete. I didn't hear you come in." The Vulture say nonchalantly.
"It's over. I've got you." Peter says.
"You know, I gotta tell you, Pete...I really, really admire your grit. I see why Liz likes you. I do. When you first came to the house...I wasn't sure. I thought, "Really?" But I get it now. "Too bad you both could've avoided this if you went to homecoming together."
"How could you do this to her?"
"To her? I'm not doing anything to her, Pete. I'm doing this for her."
"Yeah?" Peter scoffs.
"Peter...you're young. You don't understand how the world works."
"But I understand that selling weapons to criminals is wrong."
"How do you think your buddy Stark paid for that tower? Or any of his little toys? Those people, Pete, those people up there...the rich and the powerful, they do whatever they want. Guys like us like you and me, they don't care about us. We build their roads, and we fight all their wars...and everything, but they don't care about us. We have to pick up after them. We have to eat their table scraps. That's how it is. I know you know what I'm talking about, Peter."
The man was right in a certain sense. But blaming it on Tony and other powerful people...on the Avengers even, was wrong.
"Why are you telling me this?" Peter asks.
"Because I want you to understand. And...I needed a little time to get her airborne."
The Vultures wings fly through the pillars, nearly taking your head off, you move some debris away from you, what was he doing?
"I'm sorry, both to you Peter, and to your little sidekick hiding back there."
"What are you talking about? That thing hasn't even touched me yet." Peter says arrogantly.
"True. Then again...wasn't really trying to."
You realize as the ceiling comes down on you, just what he meant.
_
"Hello? Hello! Please, hey. ______! Hey, please. I'm down here. ______! I'm down here. I'm stuck. ______! I'm stuck. I can't move. I can't!"
Peter yells out, you can't hear him so well. Everything feels disconnected. Like your looking at your life behind a glass. As you lie on your back, you look down to your chest. There's so much blood.
You're going to die.
You can feel it.
After a moment, there a is a jolt in the sea of debris.
Peter must've gotten out of his own volition...
You felt useless.
You could've lifted it up off of him easily, like you did yourself. If you didn't loose all your energy obliterating the concrete off your own body and pulling that rod out of your chest. That was the thing about your abilities, unbelievably powerful, but nearly impossible to control and they took an incredible amount of energy to use.
"_____!?" Peter calls out. "______!"
"Pete. I'm...I'm over here." You call out weakly.
Please...please save me...I don't want to die
The hole from the iron rod that had been sticking through your chest was not a good look, you cover
it with your hand, feeling more blood gush out as you do so.Peter finally spots you.
"_____! Oh my god, what happened." He slides over and puts your head in his lap. Did he realize he was sitting in your blood?
"It...it just came out of nowhere." you cough, blood staining your lips, "and then...through my chest...I didn't see. I pushed it out, but...I'm still going to..." You choke.
"No— no you're going to be fine, ____. Just— just stay awake okay and please...please don't go. If you can
just— and then I can get help. I-I'll call Mr. Stark and he'll—" Peter rambles, body shaking under you.Your lips pull into something of a smile, "I...I never told you but, I...really...really care you. I'm sorry I'm only telling you now...just leave me Peter. Go get the Vulture."
"I-I can't just leave you like this, _____."
"Tell...Tell Tony I love him. And I'm sorry that I was never the daughter he deserved. Now go Peter. Please. This is how I want to die." You beg.
"I...I'm so sorry. If only I was s-stronger." Peter sobs. He holds your head and strokes your cold cheek.
For this moment could hear both of your heartbeats.
You close your eyes.
You were ready.
