My voice had quickly taken it's shrill panicky tone. "She's downstairs in the kitchen..." My voice trailed off, it was one thing to be almost positive that my mother was dead, but it was anther thing to say it.

David sighed and elbowed past me and called over his shoulder to me, "Stay here, Dawn."

"Okay." I whisper, my voice echoing in the empty hallway.

It felt like it had only been a few seconds when David appeared at the steps again.

I just haven't been able to gain the will to finish this. So I figure if I post it, I will have to finish! 😄
