Once you get your dragon and it hatches out of its egg, it shouldn't be trained quite yet. They are very small and fragile and could get hurt easily. I would wait about a week before you potty train it. That is the first thing you should teach your dragon. Reward it with a small fish or any food it will like. Its kind of like potty training a dog, but with a dragon instead. When you know that it is fully housebroken, you can start seeing what food it likes. Usually fire dragons like meat and earth dragons like friuts and vegetables, but you can experiment what food it likes. Try feeding it something different every day, and you will be able to tell what it likes and doesn't like. You should also train it not to bite other people and eat your pets. If you give the dragon chew toys it will bite those and as it gets older, it will stop biting things.

After all the easy traing, flying is a hard thing to teach your dragon. You can tell when it should be time to train it to fly because they are very jumpy and try to go upto high places by jumping and flapping their wings. To train a dragon to fly isn't very easy. First you should have a ledge that leads to another one such as a table to a couch. Make sure that it isn't far off the ground because if they hurt themselves, it could be bad. Next you want to encourage the dragon to jump and flap its wings to reach the other side. Always be ready to catch it. As it grows more and more comfortable with flying, make the ledges farther apart and taller. The dragon should be able to do it, but only alter the ledges one week at a time or the dragon would become very stressed. Once the dragon can fly, you can teach it how to use its special powers.

Every dragon has their own special powers. Water dragons can minipulate water and star dragons light up the night sky like stars. Before teaching a dragon to use its powers, you have to reaserch what kind of dragon it is (Look at the dragon breeds in this book). Every dragon is different so it might be easy to get them to use their powers or it could be harder. You want the dragon to control its power and use it on your command. Always use a friendly tone when training it so it wont get mad at you. Dragons can learn tricks too! Next chapter will be about magical dragon stones.
