Thanatos stood there outside Barbaros with nothing but hate and disgust as he seen a man drag a woman through its gates, the guards standing idly by and doing nothing. "So this is how it is these days" he said, more for himself than actually speaking to the girl. He realised then that had not even asked her name back in the plains. It seemed a good idea he hadnt but as if she had been reading his mind she looked at him annoyed.
He looked down at her with a neutral expression as he spoke, "what?". She huffed and kicked his shin, he barely felt it make contact but he could clearly see that it had caused her pain. His bones were like steel and his muscle even stronger so it was no surprise that it hurt her a lot more than him. "Oww" she cried as she fell onto her rear. Tears almost breaking through her eyes, it was then he noticed. Her eyes were almost the same colour as his, his were a clear blue with a golden hue at the edges. Hers were just a clear blue.
He knelt down to her and asked if she was alright, he retort almost startled him. "No im not alright" she said "we have walked for days together and you didnt ask my name" the huff that followed her words was almost comical. He suppressed a smile as he offered his hand to help her up. "Okay then, fine. Whats your name?" He clearly showed little to no interest in knowing it but she smiled as he asked "Emily, i think". All he could do was laugh as she took his hand and stood. "You think its Emily or you know its Emily?" The little girl had amused him in the time they had spent together. Asking about his scars or if he could do magic. It was amusing for the first 2 days but afterwards it annoyed him. She was like a machine gun with her questions. Had her questions been punches he was sure she would have knocked him out with them.
"Its Emily im sure of it" she beamed as they began to walk towards the gate. Thanatos had seen the man who dragged the woman coming back out, he wasnt sure what for but when he clocked the large man and the little girl beside him he must have had an idea because he began walking towards them.
Thanatos looked down towards Emily and using his right hand pushed her behind him. It occured to him then, what was he doing? Why was he protecting her? As soon as the guy heading towards them opened his mouth he realised why.
"How much?" The guy asked, Thanatos could only assume he meant for Emily. To try and buy him would mean he was asking for this city to be destroyed. His punishment was given to him by the gods themselves and they were always watching.
"Shes not for sale, now go about your business" Thanatos said, it was clear to him that his tone meant that what he said was final but clearly this guy has hearing problems. "Come on mate, she cant be that good a fuck, i mean look at the size of you. You would tear her apart" the guy spat out, his very presence annoyed Thanatos to no end but what he said pushed him into a new layer of fury. "You have 5 seconds to back off or i will smash your body into bits" Than snarled, his fury barely contained. But his fury was about to be broken. "Touch me and those guards over there will tear you apart. Them is Lycan guards my friend. You had best watch your tone" the guys voice barely audible to Emily but his voice was as if he had shouted to Thanatos. "Get them" Than said through gritted teeth. "We will see whos laughing when i beat you to death with their corpses". The mans confidence seemed to have packed its bags and left because the man was clearly shaken by Thans threat. "Guards" he whispered, his fear so clearly stopping his tongue. "GUARDS!" His second shout was more audible to the men at the gate.
But the guards didnt move, they didnt even look in his direction. After a while Than realised why they werent coming, they could smell his scent and had no interest in walking to their deaths. "They arent coming sunshine, best you start running. Before i have to take this cloak off and show the little one what a true Lycan looks like". The mans face went pale and Than immediately seen why, the lump that had formed in the back end of his trousers was clear as day. He had shit himself, quite literally. Without being told twice the man ran for the gates, one stride a little longer after each step. Probably to keep the shit in his pants from going down his leg.
