Than stood there in shock as Emily had made the connection so many had missed. He would play it off saying he was just a lycan that could control his shift, yet there he stood. Smile as bright as the sun, having seen through him as if he was made of glass.
"What makes you think that?" As he crossed his arms, hoping for a way to explain away her question. "Well that big man before was a god and you beat him up when he couldnt even hurt you" he chuckled at this, of only she knew. Which if her questions persisted to see through him she soon would. "If he did though i would smacked him for hurting my pa.." her voice trailed off as she almost slipped up, her head hanging low as embarrassment kicked in .
"What were going to call me then?" Now it was is turn to do the interrogation. He knew what she was going to say, it was obvious. She was going to call him papa but he wanted to make sure. "Come on, i wont get angry with you. What were you going to call me?" He knelt down so they were eye to as he smiled, reassuring her that he wasnt mad.
"I was going to call you papa" her whisper faint but easily loud enough for Than to pick up. His smile widened as he realised she thought of him as he did of her. "Well daughter of mine, you had better say it with confidence next time " her head flew at his words, as if on a spring. Her embarrassment gone in a moment and hope replacing it. "I can call you that?" Joy obviously clear in her voice. "I dont see why not"
He was happy she was willing to call him that, to have someone who thought of him as he did them. But like all good things, they must come to an end.
Their joy thrown to the wind as a crash as bright as a collapsing star and as loud as thunder fell in the next clearing. Something about such a crash brought bad memories for him for he knew what it meant. Yet Emily did not as she charged towards it, her curiosity and recent joy fuelling her run.
Before Than had even had a moment to process the situation she was gone, already deep in the thicket and out of sight. His panic setting in deep he sprinted after her, his speed unparalleled in this world yet even he was to slow against the scene before him. His father stood in front of him, injuries from their previous fight still visible as he sported multiple bruises but seemed to be healing right before his eyes. It seemed even gods took a while to heal against the damage he dealt out. But he could not take joy in the fact as his father stood there smiling, Emily's hair in his hand.
Before Than could run to her rescue he was tackled by two others that seemed to appear out of nowhere, it was clear that this was an ambush. Even with all his strength and prowess he could not move these two which meant only one thing, these were gods as well. "Calm down son, you cannot overpower these two together. Id like you to meet your brothers, Helios and Katan" Than looked at two with nothing but murderous intent as he squirmed beneath them "let me go or so help you will not heal from what i do to you" yet his brothers did not relent, instead they laughed. "You can do us no harm brother, as long as we hold you. You arent going anywhere" as Helios spoke these words Than could see his fathers approach behind them. His rage doubling as he watched Emily be dragged by her hair, her toes barely touching the floor.
"You will relent my son or she will not live to see tomorrow" even in his burning rage, Than had no choice but to listen. He cared not for what they would do to him, but he could not lose Emily. Not when he had finally found someone who he could properly call his family. "What do you want, Armitage" his father recoiling slightly as he heard his name. "Not even enough respect to call me father ay boy" he chuckled as stood over Than, Emily just outside his reach. "You are not my father, but i will piss on your grave when i kill you" Thans grin said more than his words as it should he spoke truly.
Thans father raised his leg and forced it down with enough force to destroy a city. Yet to Than it was a simple hit, he had taken more. "Is that only you got old man, here i thought you were supposedly stronger than me" Thans retort only seemed to help carry his fathers boot to his face once more. "If you wanted a tickle fight all you had to do was ask" Thans laughter echoing throughout the clearing as his father proceeded to stamp on him repeatedly without relenting. "How about that you smug prick, think you are better than me" his father said as he grinned, believing he had knocked Than unconscious. "Nope i know im better" Than said as he spat blood out of his mouth, grinning up at his brothers who seem just as infuriated as their father. "Now why dont you let me go so i beat you all into that mountain side over there. Who knows, maybe i can make a new landmark with your corpses" his father raises his foot for another strike but instead changed his mind as he slowly lowered it. "I see what you are doing my son, hoping to distract me enough so i let her go so she can run" he tutted as lean down over Than. "Not happening, you see she is coming with me and going before the court. Who knows maybe she will be treated kindly and be given a swift death" his father turned and walked away, returning to the crater he had created when he landed. "Well come on boys, we have a special case that requires our attention".
Than knew from the moment he said that, that Emily was to be given to his father by the court and she would suffer greatly at his hands. Yet he could do nothing with his brothers still holding him down. He thought to himself that the moment they let go he will kill them all and take Emily from his fathers grasp. But as quickly as that plan formed, it was dashed as his father glowed a golden hue and vanished with Emily to.
His face dropped, as shock rocked his body. She was gone, in the blink of an eye he had gained someone precious to him and last her the same day. But shock did not stay long as he rage resurfaced. His body growing and hardening as he upper half shifted into that of his wolfen godhood and he grew to double his brothers size. His body glowing a pure silver hue as his power emanated from him. His armour of a simple studded kilt and iron greaves, with leather sandals appeared on his form. To say his brothers were afraid was an understatement yet their fear was swiftly removed as was their heads. With one swift claw to their heads, his brothers were no more and yet his rage did not subside. His roar of victory that shook the mountains and the very earth itself thundered from his maw. Yet his turned slowly to a whimper as his despair finally set in.
She was gone.
Because of him she was gone and he was alone again.
