I was cooking breakfast when...

'BOO!' Michael screamed in my ear scaring the life out of me.

'You idiot! I almost burnt myself!' I said a little embarrassed at how

much he made me jump.

'Sorry babe didn't mean to scare you' he said grinning, giving me a gentle kiss on my neck. He hadn't shaved for a couple of days so he had stubble which tickled me.

Mum and Dad were at a hotel for the night so I had invited Michael over to stay the night. They have a problem with me going out with Michael for some reason so I rarely get to spend time with him. I usually just climb out the window at night and we sit in the tree house in my garden, he brings his guitar and sings for me. Although he can be a punk rock bad boy, Michael is the sweetest teddy bear I have ever met.

Suddenly we heard the front door shut and the sound of my parents. I looked at Michael with a panicked look and signaled for him to go out the back door. Dad then came in the kitchen holding Michaels black converse with a concerned look on his face.

'Care to explain?' He said sternly.

'Oh er, I went to a party last night and my heels were hurting so Michael gave me his shoes...' I lied.

'What was Michael wearing then on his poor shoeless feet?' His sarcasm made me so angry. And I didn't have an answer so I just said he went barefoot and took my freshly cooked breakfast into the dining room.

"Look," dad started. "I know 'you looooove Michael and he's the best boyfriend you could wish for' and everything sweetie but I want you to know that the only reason I'm so overprotective about you being in relationships with people like him is because I care for you!" accurate... "You have to understand that he will just end up being one of those boys that breaks your heart becuase he's bored of you!"

"Dad!" I interupted, "You don't get it! Michael is different to any other boys I've ever met. He treats me as if I actually mean something to him and it makes me feel so special! Better than you treat me anyway..."

"CAT?!!" that's when I stormed up to my room slamming the door behind me. I am so sick of being treated like shit and having Michael is my only escape. He makes me feel warm inside when I see him. He is always there for me whenever I need him and we tell each other everything.

He answered after the first ring and agreed to let me over to his house. I crept out the window (as per usual) and ran across the road to the bus stop wearing his black, scruffy converse, a t-shirt we had both gotten from an Ed Sheeran concert - our ginger Jesus, IRL!!! - some black, skinny jeans and my hair in a messy bun looking as if I'd been doing drugs for like 3 weeks straight and not washed at all.

I arrive at his house (number 44) and before I even have the chance to knock, Michael opens the door with the cheesiest grin ever. It automatically cheers me up. He opens his arms and grabs my waist to pull me into his chest. I feel his heart beat on my ear, my hair gets messed up from embracing him so hard but I couldn't care less. "You okay?" He whispers in my ear. I nod. It was the truth, he makes everything okay. Our hands meet and we walk straight upstairs to his bedroom, plonk ourselves onto the bed and put on Ed Sheeran's new album. He doesn't even ask what was wrong but he doesn't need to, he knows that my dad is totally against us being together and he just looks at me right in the eyes, smiles and kisses my forehead. I laugh and say "I love it when you do that"

"Do what?" he chuckles. "That!" I say pointing to his cheeky smile. The most beautiful smile I have ever seen. We laugh for ages and eventually we just fall over in pain from laughing so hard. "I think I have a six pack now from laughing this much!" Michael says. This makes me laugh even harder and that's when I realise, I never wanted to leave his side.
