I walked through the trees with Lyzz. I didn't like leaving Alcrin's to fend for himself in The Range. It felt wrong.

"Sweetie, are you okay?" I loved that Lyzz was always trying to make sure I was okay and was always protecting me.

"Yeah... I just kinda feel sad about the whole 'leaving Alcrin behind' thing. It makes me feel like I've betrayed him or something..." I looked down.

"Sweetie, no one betrayed Alcrin. He chose to stay, remember? It wasn't your fault." She leaned over and kissed me. I smiled at her and sighed.

"I know but I can't help but feel kinda bad..." I sighed and looked over as a girl ran past us.

"Wonder why she's in such a rush." Lyzz muttered.

"There's a safe town up ahead!" The girl called. Lyzz blinked and her eyes got wide.

"Flutter, that's just what we need. A safe town to wait out The Hunt and then we can go back and get Alcrin!" Lyzz grinned and pulled me along fast by my hand.

"What if Alcrin gets caught?" I murmured.

"If he does, we'll bust him out." She answered.

"Are you crazy. That'll get us killed!" Though my voice didn't really get that loud, Lyzz still flinched.

"Right... Sorry, sweetie." Lyzz looked down.

"It's okay, but if he gets caught we'll just have to wait it out and find out what happens to him later." I said. I didn't like the thought of Alcrin getting caught, but that didn't mean it was impossible amd there was no way we could make it impossible.

The girl that had run ahead a little way suddenly walked back to us. "Hi. I'm Cherry." She had bright red hair and beautiful green eyes. She was definitely prettier than me.

"Hi, Cherry. I'm Lyzz, and this is my girlfriend, Flutter." Lyzz smiled at the other girl, but it was only a half smile.

"Hi, Flutter. Hi, Lyzz!" Cherry seemed more interested in saying Lyzz's name than saying mine.

'No Flutter! Stop getting jealous! Lyzz loves you!' I hoped she did. I would probably break down and lose all hope if I didn't have Lyzz.

"Hi." I whispered. I didn't like Cherry. She was too loud. And she seemed a bit too close to Lyzz.

"Are you guys going to the safe town?" Cherry seemed to be directing the question to Lyzz more than to me.

"Yep. We need a safe place to stay, so we figured we'd go there. We're gonna get going now." Lyzz started to tug me away from the other girl.

"I'm going there too! I could walk you there." Cherry smiled at Lyzz, but when she looked at me, I swear she glared.

"That's fine. We prefer to travel in only each other's company thanks. We don't like too many people around." Lyzz tugged me along as we walked away from Cherry.

"Is she prettier than me?" I asked.

"Flutter, sweetie, no one is prettier than you in my eyes. You're all I care about right now. I don't need some whore like that." Lyzz spat out the word 'whore,' obviously disgusted by the other girl. I just giggled and blushed.

"I love you." I whispered, pressing myself against her side. She draped her arm over my shoulders and I wrapped my arm around her waist.

"I love you too sweetie." She whispered.

(Yet another short chapter. These are just going to be posted before the weekend, because I don't normally write on the weekends. Enjoy and keep up the reads!)
