Shu's POV

Earth?

As in, the one from legends and myths? The one where Anime characters didn't exist, but this type of altered version of us called humans did? The planet that was basically a whole altered version of Shinwa? But Earth didn't exist. No, it couldn't exist. Could it? Nobody knows. It's just a myth. Right?

'As you can see, this term we're going to be learning about the mythical planet, Earth,' Mrs Tanaka explained, blowing the dust off the cover of the book to reveal gold letters. 'Can anybody tell me about Earth before we start reading this book?'

My pale hand slowly lifted up in the air, the only one in the whole class. Mrs Tanaka smiled as if she had been expecting this. I didn't blame her. 'Yes, Shu?' she asked.

I put my hand down. 'Earth is a mythical planet, coming from numerous legends and folktales. Many people believe that Earth is real, perhaps from the strange objects and signals found plummeting in the sky. Earth is rumored to be an altered version of Shinwa, a more serious one. Instead of Anime characters, they have humans, different versions of us. Many TV Shows has Human Animation for there characters. But Miss, I don't get why we're learning this in Science if Earth isn't real. Why are we learning this topic?'

'Because, like you said before many things have been found in our oceans that may link to Earth,' Mrs Tanaka said, walking around the whole class. 'This morning, an astronaut suit washed up on the shores of Miyako Island. It is confirmed the suit belongs to a man. A flag bearing the Russian flag was found on the suit, along with many other devices, including a phone, watch, compass and wallet. And the strange thing is, in the wallet an identification card as shown consisting of his name, Georgi Dobrovolski, his age, 28, DOB, medication and the year he was qualified to become an astronaut. The Russia space database hadn't launched anyone outer space for the last five months, and nobody called Georgi Dobrovolski exists in their data base.  But most intriguing of all as the photo that came in the card. This man isn't from Shinwa, he isn't an Anime character. No, all of his features are different, and they all match up to the creatures Subete Shitte Iru describes in this very book about Earth. That means that they're inhabitants of Earth. That they're humans.' She paused for effect, leaving everyone's head to spin. 'Of course this could all just be a hoax. At least twenty five of the previous forty discoveries linking to humans have been proved faked by greedy companies. And it doesn't help that the animators these days can whip up complex images like human close ups, which are shown in the identification card. We are still unsure if Earth exists. That's why it's so important to study Earth, in case it is real. A new TV Show is coming out today. It's called In Real Earth Life. I suggest you all watch it, it will help with our studies for the term. Class dismissed. You may go home.'

I've heard about In Real Earth Life. It's the brand new TV Show coming out, and all the girls are hyped up about it. Apparently it's about following this girl called (y/n) (l/n) and seeing all the problems she faces and overcomes. Basically a TV Show of how girls overcome problems. Of course the talk about this TV Show in science has gotten the girls practically bouncing off the walls.

Scuttles of hands and paper were heard around the room as well as some relieved laughs. Science could get really hard for some people, I guess, but today's lesson was just all about listening.

'Please,' scoffed Wakiya, watching a couple of girls squeal together as they packed up. 'That show sounds absolutely girly. Don't bother with it, Shu. I've already seen the trailer and it's so cliché. I'll bet you there will be sappy romance stuff as well. Honestly though, girls are so complicated. Sometimes they want you to comfort them, but at the same time they hate you for getting close to them. It just doesn't make sense. We should concentrate on more important things like beyblade. The District Tournament is coming up, and I intend to crush you.'

He stood up arrogantly, gathered his expensive stationary and books, and strutted away from the classroom without a single word. Wakiya's been intent on battling me ever since he lost in the last final. Can't say this District Tournament is going to be easy, I thought. But in the end, I'll still win...

'Shu? Shu!' a voice screeched from outside the hall. 'Oh my gosh, I've been looking for you everywhere!'

I slowly turned my head around, dreading the person I was going to look at. I felt all eyes in the class room and the hallway trained on me, waiting for my reaction. I bit the flesh inside my mouth to stop the blush spreading across my face.

'I told you I transferred to this school!'

There was no point in looking now. I knew who the person was, and I slumped down in my chair.

'I can't believe you've been avoiding me!' Nariko said crossly, marching over to the front of my desk, ignoring the guys' laughter and the girls' jealous glares.

'I haven't; we have different classes,' I explained to her bluntly.

'How about recess? And lunch?'

'I had training. The District Tournament is coming up,' I said, slightly exasperated.

'Oh right,' smiled Nariko. 'Anyways, to make up for the lost time, we are going to have a sleepover!'

'Really?' I groaned.

'Aw, I knew you would be enthusiastic!' beamed Nariko. Before I could protest and run off, she grabbed my wrist forcefully and dragged me out of the class and into the hallway, all eyes still on us. I could almost here the gossip going around at school at this new ship. Nobody questioned her until we stepped out into the yard, when Valt popped up.

'Hey, Shu!' grinned Valt. 'Sorry I couldn't see you today, I have SLHP on all Mondays now, but we're still technically in the same home room. Anyways, you wouldn't believe who I met in SLHP (Special Learning Help Program). Some girl called Nikki or Nari or something like that with bright pink hair. She's totally crazy about you, Shu! So crazy that that's the only reason she's in SLHP, because she's a maniac! She's the president of the 'I love Shu Society'! And guess what? She even has the first ripcord launcher you ever used before switching to the string launcher. She showed us in Show and Tell, as well as the first red gloves you used and a teddy bear from when you were a baby! And guess what, she has a whole box filled with pictures of you, Shu, even when you were a baby and your address! So don't blame me now that the whole SLHP class knows your address, phone number and family! But can you say stalker much?'

I bit my lip as Valt continued talking, oblivious that the girl he was talking trash about was right next to him and listening. Because I was currently in a headlock courtesy of Nariko, I couldn't speak at all. Man! Who knew that girls could be so strong when they were fighting to keep a guy?

'She's such as stalker, Shu!' continued Valt, still blind. 'But I'll be your body guard! I'll protect you from that...s-s-stalker...'

Valt stuttered, slowly backing away from the towering Nariko, her bright silver eyes piercing Valt with utter coldness as she stepped forward with an almighty thump.

'Come here and say that to my face!' she yelled angrily, spit flying everywhere. I took this opportunity to free myself from the headlock, but she grabbed my right wrist and pinched it even tighter. 'Oh, don't you try to run away, Shu Kurenai! You're mine!' She turned back to Valt, who was now a black dot on the horizon, running as fast as he can. 'Huh. Looks like your little friend ran away. Oh well.' A gleeful smile spread across her face. 'Just more time for us.' She squeezed my cheek before dragging me onto her bike, still holding my wrist.

'Oh we're going to have so much fun.'
