I stifled my scream by clasping my hand over my mouth. I only let out a quiet gasp, not loud enough for any human to hear. But he did! He turned his pale head quickly in my direction and I froze. His creepy long hands slowly reached towards the handle of the wardrobe. I was going to get caught! He was just about to open it when... CRASH! Something had made a noise in the room next to me, and he withdrew his hand and zoomed into the room to investigate.

  I was shaking so much that I thought that I was going to make the wardrobe shake. After taking a few quiet deep breaths to calm myself, I decided to make a run for it... I counted to three in my head, made sure that he wasn't anywhere to be seen, silently pushed open the wardrobe and walked out of the same door I came through. I tiptoed down the stairs and some of them looked like they might collapse at the slightest bit of weight, so I made sure that I only stepped on the stable-looking ones.

  I successfully made it to the bottom and immediately checked if the door was locked or not, and a dull tap told me that it unfortunately was. Instinctively I looked over to the right to see the very little hope that I had left fade away... There was no key. Instead, to my surprise, there was a map pinned onto the wall! I was so confused; why would there be a map? I curiously took it down and read it. I couldn't believe it! It was a map to the key! I noticed that the house was huge, with over 300 rooms. The map said that I had to first go into the cupboard under the stairs. I looked around and spotted it straight away. I walked over to it right when I heard footsteps behind me...
