[10] Trip to the Greenhouse

Roxy's PoV

"How's you head?" Bella asks, getting out of her truck walking around to me.

I stare down at the broken glass from the accident yesterday, before glancing up at Bella, "Meh. It's bruised very slightly. But it doesn't hurt anymore."

"So you managed to sleep," Bella mumbles, her eyes capturing Edward's.

"No. I've literally been awake all night. My mind constantly racing," I gaze off at Jasper as he climbs out of Emmett's Jeep before noticing Mike walking over from the corner of my eye, "Hey, Bella here comes Mike."

"Huh," she looks at me before uncomfortably acknowledging him, "Oh. Hey Mike."

Mike smiles widely at Bella, "Look! You're moving. You're alive!"

I roll my eyes at Bella who shifts awkwardly.

"...Yeah, false alarm..."

"Actually, I'm glad you're not dead 'cause - well, that would suck, plus I wanted to ask you - even though it's, like, a month away..."

I suppress a smirk realising that Bella is being asked to Prom.

"So what do you think?" Mike questions.

Bella stares at him blankly so I nudge her hard in the ribs. She complains before focusing back on Mike.

"You want to go? To prom. With me."

Bella's face twists subtly into one of horror, "Prom. As in dancing. Not for me. Besides I, uh...have to go...somewhere. To Jacksonville. Yeah."

Mike's smile falls, "You can't go another weekend?"

Bella shakes her head, "Non-refundable ticket."

Mike then gazes to me, and I sigh quickly thinking of a lie.

"Sorry Mike, someone's already asked me," I blurt, Jasper's eyes burning into mine.

"Oh."

Bella chips in feeling bad, "Maybe you should ask Jessica," both glancing over at the bubbly Jessica who waves enthusiastically.

"Green is what?" Mr Molina shouts at those of us standing around, "Is go! Come on!"

I sigh walking over to Mr Molina, handing him my slip about to go and get on the same bus as Bella when Mr Molina holds up his hand.
