Surprises All Around

The dinging from my doorbell woke me up, I didn't know I fell asleep, I hate going sleep mad, I looked at the time 7:30, shit. I dragged my feet in my bedroom slippers to my door and looked through the peephole; a delivery guy with a bouquet of white roses. I think it was pretty clear that the delivery guy didn't know I wasn't expecting roses and it was even clearer that he didn't know who he was delivering to.
"Holy shit, you're that hot lesbian chick from the Cam Crunch!" He blurted out, I read his name tag, his name was Matt. Fuck you Matt, it's too early.
I took the roses and shut the door in his face, douche bag. Who bought me roses? They smelled lovely! I looked for a vase and to put them in when a card dropped out.

I forgot today was my birthday but clearly someone didn't; I wasn't sure who they were from but they were beautiful and smelled great! Maybe they're from Eden. It wasn't long before I got messages and calls from family and a few others telling me happy birthday, Cassie told me she did a dinner so I guess that's how I'd celebrate. Austin came over and we laid down and spoke.
"Eden left this morning, she gave me this to give to you" He said taking out this little navy blue Velcro box
I rolled my eyes taking it and tossing it aside "I can't believe she went on the stupid trip in the first place, where is it she's gone anyway?"
"Cancun"
I shook my head
"What I don't understand is why you don't just admit you are madly and undoubtedly in love Siddie!"
"In love? With who?"
"Oh please! With September Eden Jones!" He gave me a 'you-know-its-true' look
I was, I loved everything about her, even though I was mad at her, I still wanted to hear her, be around her.
"I don't know what you're talking about Austin" I lied
"Mmmmhm" he said flipping the magazine page "I'm just saying don't wait until its too late."
"Too late?"
"Bara came around last night" Austin said
"Why-What- Sh-She wouldn't go back with her Austin, don't be silly"
"Oh honey, it isn't her that you have to worry about. It's her friend Jess G.'
"Jessica, Jessica Grace?"
"You know her?"
"Yeah! She's dating my ex!"
"Small world. Anyway, she came over and introduced them, I don't know why but I'm just saying if you love the girl just say it and stop acting like a little puppy. Be a dog and take her, rough and all that nasty shit" Austin made me laugh "oh yeah, this is from August and I" he said handing me an envelope
"Thanks" I said putting it on the bed. "I'll open my gifts later" I eyed the gift Eden bought for me. Maybe Austin was right, maybe I should tell her. I will, I think, I don't know, my mind went crazy! "Oh, my birthday dinner is tonight. Foshuni's!" I gleamed
Austin rolled his eyes. I loved that restaurant. Since Eden took me its the only place I spoke about!
"Time?"
"Seven"
"Well, let me be the one to take you to lunch. Go dress Birthday girl"

Of course Cassie knew how to do a good dinner party, she made sure it was completely private so we couldn't have any crashers again, we all sat around the table, the only person missing was Eden, we haven't spoken since last night but I was sure we will.
Everyone looked stunning. I wore a black, low back cut, shimmery, off the shoulder, long, skin fit dress, with orange, round toe stilettoes, a black rose clutch and jewelry matching the bag. Cassie wore a purple, red and yellow straight dress to her knees and black shoes, her hair was done into a bob with slight light brown streaks, Raven wore a green romper with white stilettoes and her natural hair in a puff to the top of her head. Isabelle wore a pink pants suit with grey wedges and her hair braided into singles. Papa and Austin wore their suits, as usual, I don't think they knew the meaning of casual if they had to dress for a casual occasion! Abel and Aton dressed alike, pale yellow cotton sweaters, brown light jeans and brown clarks and to end it all off August wore a pastel pink cotton top with a navy blue pants and white loafers.
Foshuni's never disappointed! Their food was always amazing. I ordered the Peach infused Rose wine, a vegetable pot roast with cheese covered sweet potatoes, a slice of rum cake and vanilla icecream. After we all finished eating Cassie started by singing happy birthday and the others followed, the waiter brought out my cake, with a big 27 candle, she gave me my gift first, then Papa, Raven, Aton, Abel and Isabelle.
"Thanks you guys!"
"Well aren't you gonna open them?" Raven blurted out
"She will once she's home" Abel squeezed Raven's leg
The entire table giggled.
