Lunch and the New Boy

Aqua's POV

Finally! I survived Wand Arts, Potion Masters, and History of Magic. LUNCH TIME!

Walking to the cafeteria, I pondered what Combat will be like. Reaching the lunch line, all I see is spaghetti. I LOVE SPAGHETTI! There was salad with lots of little baby tomatoes, too.

Walking out of the line, I searched for Sean and Amy. I smelled something; it smelled like the ocean. Suddenly, my eyes fell on a boy.

He was HAWT! His jet black hair with purple highlights matched his ice blue eyes. He was wearing a gray muscle shirt with the word 'Jerk' on it and white skinny jeans with plain black tennis shoes.

And he was staring right back at me.

"AQUA!" Sean yelled from across the room.

Snapping out of it, I started walking over to them. I saw someone's foot suddenly poke out, but it was too late. I started falling. I awaited the floor's embrace, but it never came. I felt two strong arms wrapped around my body. I swear I felt fireworks at the touch of his body against mine.

"Are you ok?" Asked a sexy voice that was smooth, but low. I looked up and there he was, the boy from earlier, smirking.

"Awe, my spaghetti!" I whined as I suddenly looked at the floor. "I mean, erm, thanks for catching me just then."

He smiled. "No problem. What's your name?"

"Aquarina," I replied. "But please, call me Aqua or Rina."

"Ok, Aqua. My name is Colby," he replied. All the while when he was talking, Marine went nuts saying 'mate' over and over again. I didn't realize it until he walked off that he was the ONE. My other half, and there he goes.

'H-he doesn't want us,' Marine sniffled.

'Of course he does,' I swear, Marine can be a real drama queen.

In Combat class, we are basically gonna train ourselves to be tough enough to survive and fight in difficult conditions.

It was terrible. Not the actual class, I was the best, but the people. They kept talking about me or Colby. It made me furious! How can they talk to Colby that way? They barely even KNOW him!

So, I beat the pulp out of them. Colby was there, and he stared at me the whole time. Personally, I liked the attention. It made me feel... safe.

After class, I walked up to him. "Hey, Colby." I saw him shudder and smirked.

"Hey, Aqua." Now it was my turn to shudder.

"I-I, um, was wondering if you would like to, um, hang out after school? If you want to, it's ok. I don't want you to do something you don't wanna do." Gosh, I am terrible at speaking.

He smirked. "Sure, I'd love to," he replied.

I breathed a sigh of relief. "Ok, can we meet at the white gazebo by the lake at 4:30?" I asked.

"Perfect." He agreed.

Colby's POV

I was meeting Aqua at the Gazebo in fifteen minutes! I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. I have picked out flowers, purple lantana, blue azelia, and white roses.

Walking quickly, I was carrying a bag with my swim trunks, sunscreen, bugspray, and a couple of towels. Aqua texted me that we were going swimming right then so I'm glad I brought my swim stuff just in case.

There she was... My mate. She was in a purple bikini with a short (too short, but better than just plain bottoms) black skirt. She was... ravishing.

"Hey," She said.

"Hello, Gorgeous," I replied.

She looked really nervous. "Um, I have to... show you something. Wanna swim?"

"Sure. I love swimming," I said with a smirk. Truth is, I'm a merman, but I'm not gonna tell her just yet. I think she may faint and drown.

"Ok, now, please don't freak out and stay on land just in case you pass out," she said, then dove into the water.

When she came back up, her highlights were brighter, her eyes tinted blue, and she had no legs. She had an ice blue tail.

I was speachless, she was like me.

With a shout of joy, I jumped in to be with my wonderful mate.
