"Are you excited to start blocking tomorrow?" Jughead asked Betty. She looked up at her best friend and nodded. She had gotten the part as the main character in the school play, and Jughead had gotten the part as her lover.
"I've never even heard of this play before. Have you?" Betty asked him. He shook his head and looked down at the pavement as they walked down the sidewalk. "I think it's either a really obscure play or it's an student original, because I've looked it up and I can't find it anywhere. Or maybe it's just so new that it hasn't made it big yet," he said.
Betty shrugged. "At least it's got a cool name."
"You really think so? Signs in The Past? I think it's terrible!"
"It's probably just because you're a writer and your judgement on book titles is multiplied by a hundred," she smiled. Jughead chuckled and stole a quick glance at her.
Jughead admired Betty. She struck a special place in his heart, a place that's never been phased by anyone else before. Everything she did, everything she said, and everything she touched was heavenly in his eyes. Betty herself was heavenly.
But today was the day he just had to do something about it. He felt that even if she didn't feel the same way, she'd accept him as he was anyway, because they were like family to each other.
"Soー" he paused, and Betty looked back up at him. He choked on his words for a moment, and then smiled, gazing into her eyes. "So do you wanna practice that kiss scene?" he asked. Betty furrowed her brow. "I don't remember there being a kiss scene..." she stopped walking and pulled her backpack off her shoulders. She unzipped it and grabbed the script. She paused, stared at it for a second, and looked up at him a third time. "Is there a kiss scene?"
Jughead nodded. "Yeah. On page sixty-five."
Betty flipped through the pages until she got to the end. "There's only forty-eight pages, there's noー" she trailed off and met his eyes. "Jug..." They both stood there for a moment, silent, as Betty looked confused, head tilted. Jughead brought his hands to her face and leaned down to kiss her soft lips.
Betty's script fell from her hands as she kissed back, bringing them up to his head and running her fingers through his dark hair, knocking off his beanie.
They pulled away smiling.
"You have no clue how long I've wanted to do that," Jughead laughed. Betty's eyes fluttered open. "Me too..." she muttered. Their fingers intertwined and they started to walk back down the sidewalk to Betty's house.
"I honestly didn't think that would work," Jughead grinned. Betty nudged him. "That was clever, I'll give you that," she responded. "If only there was an actual kiss scene in the play."
"We can always add one in if we want to," Jughead kissed her nose.
"I wouldn't mind that," she giggled.

Sorry it's so short but I had another one I wanted to start but I needed to finish this first
Alright so this wasn't inspired by a song, but I'll add one in anyway
It's Hold Me by Fleetwood Mac
But it was inspired by the fact that I am indeed heavily involved in the theater industry and I just wanted to do something theater themed lol
Also, if you don't know what blocking is, it's basically working through the show and figuring out where you're going to walk to, how you're going to act like your character, etc.
So yeah that's what I've been doing
