"Niall, you cannot wear a polo to a night club!" Violet nagged, sweeping past and snatching the baby blue polo from my hands.
Violet was my best friend from uni. She majoured in music as did I, so it was only a matter of time before we became friends. I liked Violet because she was unique. There was no such thing as a boring conversation with her because she was just so charismatic and outgoing. She was always a good laugh, but still a friend I could look to if I needed help or advice.
Speaking of uni, Violet and I finished uni last week, but the graduation ceremony was held earlier today where we received our degrees and official graduation award. I received my degree in music, which was a huge accomplishment for me. So, in honour of that accomplishment, we decided to gather up a group of friends and go to a night club tonight. But of course, I was unsure of what to wear because I've never exactly been to a night club before.
"Wear this," Violet mumbled from inside of my closet. She quickly turned around and tossed a pair of black tight jeans and a black and white McFly band shirt at me, which thankfully my clumsy hands caught.
"Are my Supras in there?" I asked her, referring to the gift she had gotten me for my birthday last year.
"I see them," She said, voice muffled. "Thankfully, they still look brand new."
"Well, of course," I snorted. "They are my babies, I protect them with my life."
"Stop being so gay," She chuckled, throwing her head back in laughter as she stepped out of my closet. "I mean, you are gay, but tone it down just a tad."
I rolled my eyes at her. "Some how my sexuality is always mentioned anytime I talk to you."
"Shut up and get dressed," She laughed, playfully slapping my bicep and walking out of my messy bedroom.
I waited until she closed the door behind her before I slipped out of my derby jersey and grey sweatpants and into tonight's choice outfit. I stood in front of the mirror as I styled my hair up into a small quiff with some gel. I gave myself a quick once-over before deciding I looked alright and stepping into my bathroom to apply some antiperspirant and my favourite cologne. I prodded back over to my bedroom, slipping into my Supras and grabbing my cell phone and my wallet before I was ready to meet Violet in the car and go to the night club.

As soon as we arrived, the loud music filled my ears and the smell of alcohol invaded my nostrils. Nearly everyone surrounding me was either tipsy, drunk or beyond and it made it almost impossible to weave through the crowd to find my friends. Violet had already disappeared to go use the restroom, so it was my job to locate Liam, Sophia, Louis, Eleanor, Zayn and Alex.
I had finally pushed through enough people so that I had already reached the back of the building where the lounge area was. There were dozens of people seated all around the leather couches but I spotted Liam and Sophia chatting and walked over to them.
"Niall, mate!" Liam shouted as soon as I stepped into sight, pulling me into a large hug. I complied and hugged him back.
Liam was a lifelong friend of mine. I've known him since I was just seven years old. We met in grade school, I don't remember quite how but we haven't lost each other and that's all that matters.
"I thought I'd never find you guys in here!" I laughed, looking over at Sophia who was smiling at me. "Sophia! Hi, I missed you!"
Sophia was Liam's girlfriend of two years. But she was also a really great girl. She was funny, kind and very intelligent. However, she went to a different university so I didn't see her as often.
