If you were to look for Louis Tomlinson at the precinct he worked in, he could be seen at his desk, files and papers that looked unorganized to anyone else but him scattered all around. There would be a fresh cup of coffee in the right hand corner, away from any loose piece of paper. If currently working on a homicide, he would be hunched over the file in front of him, or looking at the board near his desk that held all of the important information and questions about the investigation. He'd have his eyes trained directly at the pictures and words, trying to find connections that would give him a lead. He'd pick up his cup without looking, a fairly simple thing to do when your coffee is always in the same place, and take a sip without averting his eyes from the file or the board. And the one thing you would almost never see Louis Tomlinson without is his loving husband and homicide partner, Harry Styles.

Except for today. Today was a rare occasion when the couple was assigned small, separate cases. Louis was feeling rather lonely without his partner around to help him, whether it be to find a lead he didn't, refill his coffee cup, or just give him a simple kiss on the cheek for reassurance. In fact, he hadn't seen Harry all day. Which was strange, because it was almost time to leave. Where was he?

Louis once again reached for his coffee mug, only to be met with a handful of empty air. He turned away from the board to see his lovely husband smiling at him, Louis' coffee mug in one hand, his coat in the other. "It's quitting time, Louis," Harry said, his dimples making an appearance at finally being able to see Louis after a long and stressful day of work.

"Alright, I'm coming." Louis said, closing the file on his desk and grabbing his coat from Harry's outstretched hand to put it on. "Did you wrap up your case, love?"

Harry visibly brightened, his eyes widening in excitement. He just loved telling people about a case he just solved, and Louis loved listening to his adorable ramblings. "Yeah! But I'll tell you about it in the car; you looked like you're pretty baffled about yours. Tell me, what's got you stumped?"

So as they walked out of the precinct, Louis briefed Harry about his case that didn't seem to make sense, his brow furrowed and eyes concentrated, while Harry took it all in, slightly smiling at his partner as they went to their car and drove home from a day of work.

The Styles-Tomlinson couple was, in all honesty, the model couple. They rarely fought, and when they did, they were quick to make up. They loved the other with all their hearts, and would do anything to make them happy. The fact that they were so perfectly in love is exactly the reason they were targeted.

The poor, sickeningly-cute couple had no idea what the next couple of months would have in store for them. Their relationship would be tested to its limits, along with their humanity. And one of them, particularly a blue-eyed beauty, might not make it out alive.

Finally starting my second story and I'm so excited! Please comment your feedback, theories, etc. I can't wait to see how you guys like the story!

I should warn you readers now, updates will not be on any sort of schedule. They will be leisurely. Ideas come to me at different times, and I don't put out chapters I'm not satisfied with. So bear with me on that.
